With Selig gone, this might be the best chance Mets fans have of getting rid of the Wilpons once and for all. The Ownership team lacks enough funding to run a Major League organization in a major market. That alone should be enough to force a sale. Selig can't strong arm another floater loan to the Mets either so without a major cash infusion, that franchise is headed into the ground like a dart no matter how promising their farm system is. This lawsuit reminds me a bit of the Anucha Brown suit against Isaiah Thomas and the Knicks. It probably will be settled out of court in exchange for a non-disclosure agreement. If the NBA can get rid of Don Sterling, the MLB can get rid of Fred and Jeffy Wilpon. What the Mets don't need right now especially in the light of the Ray Rice scandal is another gender based controversy. This will not end well for the New York Metropolitans if this goes to trial.
Ouch. Having said that I really really really hate the Wilpons and the joke they've made of this franchise. _
Maybe she wanted to have a child but didn't want to get married………you aren't the father by any chance are you? That said, I hope it's true about Wilpon. What a nice public relations shit sandwich for him to have to eat - couldn't happen to a nicer douche.
Let's hope they can use this to run these clowns out of baseball and this team can get a real owner or ownership group much like the Dodgers who have the resources to run an MLB franchise in a major market. With the young talent and you'd hope some owners with a will to win this team can become a consistent playoff contender. Mark Cuban would be awesome.
The Dodgers got the resources by selling the local TV rights for over a billion bucks. The Mets own the local network (SNY) so they sell the Mets rights for a token amount and pocket all the massive ad revenue instead of investing it on the field
