Time to fire up the hot stove.

    Do not want in 2008:
    Lo Duca
    Delgado
    Castillo
    Glavine
    Mota
    Green

    Get to work, Omar.

    I thought Willie was implied.

I wouldn't mind Lo Duca as a backup, since really there is no one in FA as a catcher

Get rid of El Duque, he is the John Abraham version of baseball

You also can't get rid of enough players in the bullpen. Need an upgrade there, but the starters didn't help by going no more than 6 innings any time out, and usually less.

    Johan Santana.

Oh wait, you mean the Mets have nothing to offer Minnesota? Great going Omar.

I've been thinking...could Gomez start every day next year? Would Milledge-Betran-Gomez be good enough? And if so, where could the money we would spend on OF this offseason go? Pitching?

Also, I have no idea who we could get for the right side of the infield. And the front end of the rotation. Could Pelfrey and/or Humber start?

And I have no idea who our catcher would be, the FA market is really old.

If Dauner Sanchez can come back that would be an upgrade in the pen right there. The Mets also need a new long man as I'm sure Sele won't be back. Show's got 2 years left on his deal and is fine as long as he's used as a LOOGY. Sosa probably won't be back either but I can't see Wagner/Heilman/Feliciano going anywhere.

Milledge must go. He's garbage as a person and woke lying dogs yesterday with his unprofessional antics. I wanted the bum traded back in the spring after he acted in an unprofessional manner by making an explicit rap song. You can't do that when you are a baseball player.

Alou is a steal at 7.5M for next year. Unless he decided to do something crazy like retire he'll be back. Gomez will get playing time next year but I don't think they're ready to plug him in as the everyday starter.

As for Pelfrey I think he's pretty much penciled into the rotation next year. They could give Humber a shot in the rotation next year and move El Duque strictly to the pen but I don't see both Pelfrey and Humber in the rotation.

Silliness. People vastly overreact what Milledge does. Milledge didn't wake up anything, Glavine's garbage he brought woke them up.

Did you see some of the quotes from the Marlins after Saturday's game?
