This Mets lineup is one of the sickest things I've ever seen. For anyone that missed the game last night or just likes to laugh at Steve Phillips this sums it up pretty well http://www.amazinavenue.com/2009/5/18/878410/an-open-letter-to-espn
wow, listening on the radio. They said Molina overheard Pelfrey last night mumbling the pitch to himself "slider slider slider" and that's how he hit it. Warthen: "we're working on it" By the way, the Twins had Joe Crede 5th, behind Mauer and Morneau. That's almost as bad as Jerry's stunt of hitting Sheffield cleanup with Delgado out.
Any line-up with Pagan leading off (he's 2-3 somehow) is kind of gross. But then you have Sheffield batting .250 at clean-up (when does this stop?), and then the absolutely horrendous 6-9 spots with Tatis, Martinez, Castro and the pitcher. What exactly did Murphy do? Did he offend Manuel somehow?
Just love that Cora tore a ligament in his thumb because of yet another moronic headfirst slide. Will these idiots ever learn?
Even if Manuel didn't call for that bunt (which I don't believe), it's still his fault, since Castillo has been conditioned to think that he's not allowed to hit away in that situation.
maybe they'll walk sheffield to pitch to wright. oh wait, no they won't. i guess this is generally why you don't bat a great hitter behind a bad one in the middle of the order.
Sheffield with the frozen rope to drive in the tying run! Look, a feetfirst slide that pushes through the catcher to score. What a miracle.
