Game 1 Probables: Jorge Sosa vs. Kyle Davies
Game 2 Probables: Oliver Perez vs. Chuck James
Game 3 Probables: Tom Glavine vs. John Smoltz

Big series for the Mets, we need to take 2/3 from them. I'm fairly confident game 2 is ours, I'm not sure if i should take game 1 or game 3 for the other win though.

    LETS GO METS!

Glavine vs. Smoltz is a nice match-up.

I'm not confident with any of the three games.

Edit: Just kidding, I mixed up Davies and James starts.

The Mets will have to prove they can beat this year's edition of the Braves this upcoming series. If Atlanta comes into New York and wins the series, psychologically it would be reinforcing ghosts of Atlanta/Mets past.

We need games 1 and 2. Davies sucks and Perez absolutely owns Atlanta.

Beating Smoltz for a sweep would be the punctuation mark.

It is a big series, I don't buy into the whole "we have to make a statement". If we win 1 of 3 we leave in first place.

do we ever miss Smoltz in a Braves series?

Actually I do believe we have to make a statement here......we lose 2 out of 3 to these clowns again, and it's going to be shades of 2 years ago.....it would also be nice to start getting a little cushion, and stretching out our lead

This is no statement series for the Mets. I'd like to take at least two of three but if not, it won't mean much the rest of the year.

If Atlanta comes into NY.....they would have to forfeit because the Mets would be waiting for them with the umpires in Atlanta. :)

Mets just need one. I feel confident that the Mets can do better against the rest of the league than they can and will win the division. If they have our number this year, so be it.

I agree with the previous comments. The Mets have proven that they can win consistantly, an individual series isn't really important right now. The pitching matchups are such in this series that if they only won 1/3, I'd be fine with that.

I'm surprised more of you don't believe we need 2 out of 3 here. Atlanta's struggling, lost 4 of their last 5 i believe....and we have the pitching matchups, i feel like if they lose 2 out of 3 it ensures a dogfight for the NL east........if they take 2 of 3 or sweep, we start to run away with it.....maybe I'm overstating it, but just feel if they can't take this series, given the circumstances, they are inviting trouble.

I am sorry but I disagree with you all, we need this series, we were finally able to break out of the Atlanta owning us badly last year after 14 years, last thing we need is to fall back into that black hole especially at Turner Field. Right now they are struggling, it is a good time to create a bit of a distance from the rest of the division again.

Obviously nothing is going to be decided in May but with the Braves looking to be the Mets main competition this year you want to win these games. AJones has been almost as bad as Delgado and the Mets have been great away from Shea this year so I'm hoping they can take the series.

I want to sweep, but I am not ready to go all Joe Benigno about them...

We are clearly better from top to bottom.

I think it's a significant series, more significant than most, but as long as we don't get sweeped I'm ok. Winning the series would be sweet though.
