Mets at Phillies, July 4-7

I guess everyone is at a barbeque. Santana is pitching great, so naturally the Mets had 1 hit through four innings against someone making his season debut (after 4 IP last year).

A single, a double, and a walk, and now Santana is up with the bases loaded and no one out.

 

Santana with the worst at bat in history. The pitcher never threw a strike, and yet he swung and missed at two pitches and then popped up a third after the count was 2-0. Unforgiveable.

 

Reyes beats out the DP. Mets up 1-0.

 

Endy does what Santana should have done and walks. Need Mr. Wright to pound this lefthanded pitcher.

 

Wright gets lucky on the 1-2 ball call, and works out a walk.

Beltran strikes out on a pitch out of the strike zone. 2-0 Mets.

 

Santana cruising through 5 on 50 pitches.

 

If Aguila knew how to play LF, this inning would be over with no runs scored.

 

And now it's tied, and the chances are very good that the Mets will be losing this game.
