I don't have the time to put down pitching matchups and such, so if someone else wants to do that, that would be great. This HAS to be the series where the Mets finally win a series on the road. The reason why I started this thread is to note the report that the Orioles brought in Bobby Valentine to interview about becoming their manager. I will certainly be pissed if the Mets leave town on Sunday with Bobby V being the manager of one of these teams, and it's not the Mets.
the o's aren't wearing their batting practice unis tonight, but the ones they are wearing are not any better
Dickey in danger of giving some of those runs back. Barajas is going to have a passed ball in this game.
Here are the pitching matches for the other 2 games, match ups appear favorable! 6/12 Mets (Takahashi 4-2 3.80) Vs. Baltimore (Matosz 2-6 5.10) 6/13 Mets (Pelphrey 8-1 2,23) Vs. Millwood (0-7 4.64) Is Millwood auditioning?
This team is coming together nicely. The rotation is pitching 6+ innings every game which is great for the bullpen.
Too early to say that - they're still 9-18 on the road. If they finish this AL road trip against teams with a composite record of 78-101 before today at least 6-3 maybe we can talk about them coming together. Of course, that doesn't change that being in second place 1.5 games out of first on June 11 is a pleasant surprise.
"Mets manager Jerry Manuel says it's possible that OF Carlos Beltran can be the DH at Yankee Stadium next weekend." ...what?
Yeah it's just nice to see the rotation pitching deep into the games which puts less pressure on the rotation and the lineup.
Wonder how long it will take before he gets any rythymback, been a long layoff for him, btw, what are the choices/rumors approaching the trade deadline, will the Mets try to pick up a bat, or pitching depth?
I know this isn't NYM-BAL related but I thought this was an interesting comment on the Mets blog on sny.tv....... "i think it’s very interesting the Phillies are just 11-15 since they were busted for using binoculars on May 12, and over that span they’ve been shutout six times and scored three runs or less 19 times…" hmmm.....makes you think, no?
Lol Get ready for the "stop focusing on us, the mets look weird on the road, they must be using binoculars at home!" reply
Lol, yeah i know, that's what I was referring to. I think it's gone by a bit unnoticed that we're on top of the Phils in the standings right now.
Yes, they will try. Guthrie, Millwood, and Wigginton are probably going to be moved by Baltimore. Roy Oswalt will be traded. Would he be willing to pitch for the Mets is the question. Prince Fielder is likely to be traded. The Mets would have to part with Ike Davis and a couple other players.
