I see everyone is so excited about this team that they can't even be bothered starting a thread. 1-1 in the top of the 6th. Redding has been okay. Putz will have surgery to remove a bone spur and fragments in his elbow. He'll likely be out at least until September.
And Wright once again runs into an out (he was actually thrown out at third earlier but was called safe and scored the one run).
Wright with the big hit to drive in 2, but then moronically tries to steal third with none out and gets thrown out (the third baseman actually missed the tag, but the ball beat him by a mile).
Frankie gets the job done, but Gary needs to shut up about him being the best Mets closer ever. It's the first week of June.
Well I am glad that we got the win but our injuries are seriously worrying me due to this weak lineup
Lidge's awfulness is about the only thing keeping the Mets hanging around at the moment. Ibanez and Howard combined have more HRs than the entire Mets roster.
gotta admire the mets ability to supplement their lack of talent offensively with even worse fundamentals.
Bad call by the umpires, but yet more misadventures for the Mets on the basepaths. And now Maine gives up another HR.
mets finally facing a pitcher that is bad enough to score runs against lol another wild pitch brings in a run
This guy looks as bad as Maine did yesterday. Second WP brings in the 5th run. Mets better not blow this one.
I'm amazed that Gary and Keith haven't mentioned Mel Ott in all of their possibilities for the biggest home/road disparity in home runs.
