:eek:hmy:Wahoo I made the first regular season thread!! Plus it may be as near as jets v dolfags we get all year!!!

Lets hope Pelfrey can carry on from last year and Ike and Josh can progress from their good work last season.Oh and maybe beltran can earn some of that cash!!
Sandy has done a great job with $2 and change to build a roster that looks more competitive than any of us thought!!

Go mets I will be torturing myself on mlb tv later!!!!

How did you manage to become a Mets fan from way out in the UK?

Had family out here through marriage and spent many years as a teen in NY state. unfortunately my uncle and family took me to Mets and Jets games....96 jets and post WS mets..made the 2000 ws and cried!!! thank god I avoided the Nets who they watched but i hate Basketball!!

Went to citifield last year not a patch on shea for atmosphere , took my wife and she was real anti baseball but having watched us beat the phillies and been able to drink Brooklyn she was all for it. Coming over in Sept for a 10 day game fest hopefully goodell will have got his head from his ass so it will be and nfl / mlb marathon.

Never realised this baseball forum was here til last year!!

    Lets go mets!!!

*sigh* And so it begins. Pelfrey really is a glorified no. 3 starter. No strikeout pitch and a "groundball pitcher" who puts balls in the air way too often to be regarded as such.

K-Rod blows a save in the bottom of the 9th, but the Mets come back with some clutch hitting in the 10th to win it. Three hits each for Wright and Thole, and Collins gets his first managerial win since 1999.
