Mets off to a good start in the top of the first, but Murphy costs them a run getting picked off first by the catcher, and Delgado doesn't score on two-out double by Beltran all the way to the wall. 1-0, but it could have been 3-0.

    Mets @ Cards 4/21-4/23

Mets score 1 run that should've been 3 thanks to some awful baserunning. I'm sure 1 is enough with Perez on the mound.

I was still trying to wrap my head around the fact that Delgado didn't score on the Beltran hit. Was he walking first to third or what?

Castro is amazingly slow. Nice play by Pujols, though.

Nice play by Wright - those are the kinds of plays that have gotten him two Gold Gloves.

Ollie, Reyes and Murphy with two-out singles. 3-0 Mets.

Wright with the infield hit for a 4th run, Murphy thrown out at the plate. He got up limping, so hopefully he's not hurt.

Ollie has good stuff tonight, but his command is pretty spotty. This is the kind of game that sometimes suddenly gets out of hand for him, so nothing is definite at this point.

Ridiculously slow strike call, but Thurston was an idiot to take that pitch.

Yet another frustrating start for Perez, and he's gone before he's even through 5.

Horrible call by the umpire, as Delgado clearly caught the bag with his toe. Wonderful.
