Game 1: Oliver Perez vs. Jo-Jo Reyes Game 2: Pedro vs. Jorge Campillo Game 3: Pelfrey vs. James Parr This is not good. Their best pitchers are going. Tomorrow especially there's a big disadvantage.
The Mets have a clear SP advantage in 2 out of the 3 games and they're pretty much always at a disadvantage when Pedro goes so I'm not sure what's so bad about these matchups.
we need to take 3 for any real shot at the division. they just can't depend on Philly losing against teams they are clearly better than.
I just hate when Pedro pitches, I guess. And this time it's against a good pitcher. I'm chalking up tomorrow as a loss. We need to take the other two.
wright makes his 2nd awful defensive play of the inning and castro inexplicably doesn't tag out francouer at home in order to throw anderson out at 2nd and allows the 2nd run to score.
No, Keith, leadoff walks actually don't find a way to score, at least not any more than leadoff singles do, and a lot less than leadoff doubles, triples, and home runs do.
Beltran doubles in Wright, and Delgado singles in Beltran. Gee, guys, maybe he tried to pitch carefully to Reyes because the umpire has a terribly inconsistent strike zone, and when he throws strikes they hit the ball hard? But you keep on saying that his problem was giving up a leadoff walk.
Perez sure doesn't look like he'll make it past the 6th. Yet another horrible call on a strike by this umpire.
Bases loaded none out in the 5th followed by only 1 run and 6 outs is much more than could have been expected. That's great, but the Mets can't hope to preserve a one-run lead, can they?
