What's the point of the All Star break if you're not going to use it to reset your rotation?

Thursday, 7/16: Oliver Perez vs. Derek Lowe
Friday, 7/17: Mike Pelfrey vs. Jair Jurrjens
Saturday, 7/18: Johan Santana vs. Kawakami
Sunday, 7/19*: Fernando Nieve vs. Javier Vazquez

*- 6:05 PM start. No idea why. Since when is there such a concept on a Sunday, anyway? 6:05?

Braves have a decided pitching advantage in 1, 2, and 4.

Santana pitching on six days rest in 3.

I had a classic oldtime baseball experience at Coney Island this afternoon with my wife and father. First to Nathan's for great hot dogs and fries. Then on to Keyspan Park to watch the Brooklyn Cyclones play the Williamsport Crosscutters. I sat in the fourth row behind first base - even caught a tee shirt (the girl standing on the dugout who threw them threw like a girl). Time of game: 2:20. Of course, the Cyclones are a Mets farm team, so naturally they managed only 4 hits and lost 3-1.

Mets get a break as Prado can't make the play on a double-play ball. 2-1 Braves.

Wow, Keith exposing his lack of knowledge of Mets history with getting the easy AFLAC trivia question wrong (who was the first Met to start in an All-Star Game?).

    tied.

Mets should've been able to record the out at the plate.

    Throw beat him.

    3-3 after 4

Perez with his usual 20 pitches per inning 1 run per inning performance - and this is a relatively good performance for him.

Nice to see that Manuel still has no clue how to get his bullpen through an inning successfully.
