Hooray! Yankees keep their prospects and the Red Sox don't become the next baseball dynasty!

it said it is pending a contract extension. santana wants 6-7 years, mets said they wont go past 5. deal is not done yet.

i dont think the mets really overpaid....they got to keep their top prospect(f-mart) and gave up 2 pretty mediocre prospects in humber and mulvey. i will admit i dont know much about guerra tho.

I'm glad the Yankees didn't get him. That's all I'll say.

I don't think the Mets would have done the trade if they don't plan on meeting Santana's contract demands.

Unbelievable. Truely unbelievable. Omar really got bailed out; Humber's supposedly near worthless at this point, and the other three are by no means blue chip prospects. I'm delighted.

What a steal, without F-Mart and Pelfrey. Lets sign this guy!

Humber and Mulvey will be #3 starters tops. Guerra has a chance to be an ace. but....he's still only 18 years old

We can afford to lose Gomez if we're keeping Martinez, so I'm extremely satisfied with this trade. Gomez was extraneuous with Milledge tucked away anyw... daw.

I just saw this on cbs.sportsline. lead story. wow.

not bad, but I hate giving up a bunch of prospects for a guy and then overpaying him anyway (Benson).
