Actually both Hodge and Jaws think that Clemens WAS the best QB in the draft. Jaws thought that Cutler was the best of the top three, but thinks Clemems will be the star. Some of the things Jaws said about Clemens included: " I think Clememns is the guy in four or five years that everyone will be saying: 'How did everyone pass on this guy' He is a definite starter and star at QB in this league" (paraphrase but very close)
The best quarterback that few people have heard of, in Jaworski?s estimation, is Kellen Clemens of the University of Oregon. ??I think (he?s) going to be a real good pro,?? Jaworski said. ??If you had mentioned Tom Brady a few years ago, people would have said, ?Who?? Well, I mention Kellen Clemens because I think he has that type of ability and will surprise people in the NFL.??
we can only hope.....we've gotten the short end of the stick when i comes to QB in recent years.....still routing for Chad though
And to think boneheads on this board criticized the way we handled the 2nd round. Not only did we get the QB we wanted at 35, we got him at 49 along with a 2nd rounder for next yr... virtually got him for "free"
I think he meant that they are 1st rounders...Contrary to Merril saying they shouldn't be 1st rounders.
hes def wrong about the first round aspect... but he may have hit it head on with the Kellen comment! If he didn't get injured he would have been one of the top 3 QB's taken
We only get one feed from the draft over here GreenMachine, (ours was NFL TOTAL ACCESS, with the irritating Rich Eisen), this was a good insight into a player a lot of experts felt was undervalued. Lets hope Clemmens is the real deal. Sean Salisbury looks to have put a few pounds on recently.
