    Liked AVT. Doesn’t like the Wilson pick. Says Darnold was graded higher. Mel Kiper typically is smarter than Jets GMs.

    McShay and Kiper have been repeating this meaningless anecdote for months now, as if three years and a whole lot of NFL tape haven't passed since that Darnold grade was initially assigned.

    There is nothing dumber than grading a draft before a single player even signs their contract let alone steps foot on the field. If you grade it on ANYTHING, it's "did this team fill a need" and we filled the two biggest needs on the roster. Mel Kiper is also a world-renowned idiot.

    Kiper also had Ryan Leaf rated higher than Wilson.

    Kiper is a dope. 5th year option - $20M risk in Darnold vs a rookie Qb contract.

    Even if Darnold were better (which he’s most likely not), this is not an apples to apples comparison.

    Kiper's been wrong a ton and right a ton. It comes with the territory of analyzing 500-600 prospects a year for 30 years. The hate he gets here is silly.

    His list of blunders are pretty funny though.

    Well that's a pretty low bar based on GMs before Douglas. I'm confident Douglas knows more than Kiper.

    And Kiper is acting like a petulant child because the Jets traded away his guy Darnold, who he still can't admit he might've been wrong about. He has no credibility with me.

    The fact that he had Darnold graded higher means nothing. It just means he was wrong on Darnold if anything

    He also said Jarmarcus russel was the highest grade ona QB he ever made, and he ghostlights that now pretending he didn't say
