You may not like the info he's giving but he IS giving info. He's giving info that he'd never get if it wasn't anonymous. He can't name his anonymous sources or he'd never get another anonymous quote from a player again.
There are some players on every team without a top 3 qb that want Manning. And by some, I would suspect that number is 50 on the Jets.

Apparently a lot of people do. I don't think it's unreasonable to think some players would want Peyton Manning as their QB. Maybe he's the only one who asks off the record questions the right way?

This. Most players want to win, and they know Manning gives them the best chance to do that. And fans want to win too and dont give a shit about the cap ramifications in 5 years.
As a fan i care about the cap ramifications in 5 years. I don't want this team to get fucked over like they did when they chased favre. It's always instant gratification we're chasing and thats not how you get sustained success.
