It would be a big mistake to pay either of these guys #1 money. They are complimentary receivers as is Decker. This is where teams make their biggest mistakes - contracts for free agents that they don't have the ability to live up to.

Agreed, but I think the Jets' interest in Maclin and Sanders is probably because they feel they could sign either guy without paying them the 'Number 1' money that Decker will be seeking/receiving.

This, Decker has been receiving the most attention it seems, and honestly he doesnt deserve it.

If they can get them for #2 money I'm fine any of the three. But historically, free agency has teams over paying based on demand and not on potential production. Recent teams with a lot of success allow their receivers to leave without over paying them - the Steelers, Giants and Patriots refuse to make this mistake. Pittsburgh especially - Burress, Holmes, Wallace and now Sanders. Though they are under some pressure after missing the playoffs two straight seasons, they aren't focusing their rebuilding at the receiver position.

An incentive based contract for Maclin for 2-3 years to go along with the WR & TE the Jets will draft will be a significant boost to the offense. Maclin, "rookie", Kerley, Nelson, Hill isn't a bad WR corp.

The perfect free agency for me would be Dennis Pitta + Draft WR + FA WR + Dustin Keller(cheap if he can still walk)

Which receivers would fit our west coast offense the best? Maclin has played under Marty for multiple seasons. I think Sanders is better but its about the price more than anything.

Sanders is the better all around receiver but will cost more. Maclin could be a really solid value coming off the ACL injury. The one thing that worries me is if one of these guys is all we'd do at the position. Wouldn't shock me if the group would be Maclin, Kerley, Nelson, Hill and a mid round pick.

this plan is decent, although after the way keller left i dont see him coming here or us wanting him.

i would rather it be maclin, sanders, draft te (ebron), draft wr. why go after two te's? we have cumberland, and blocking te's are cheap and easier to find.

The Dustin Keller thing is just a thought. Sanders has the deep threat ability which the Jets have lacked since Braylon left. Geno had some of his better passes down the girls. Sanders at the right price would be ideal.

What's a realistic one year deal salary he'd look for?
