I just went back and watched this guy. For the most most part the guy had a strong game. He has some quickness and is pretty strong. He had two sacks and a nice tackle behind the line a loss. He is very active and has a great motor and he wraps and tackles well. I saw him do a decent job disengaging on some blocks. He is not going to bull rush any linemen but he has some moves and some quickness to get around them. He did not really get picked on in coverage and the Steelers pretty much ran up the gut so it was hard to judge if he could cover or set the edge. But other than that solid effort. I can't remember the last time Thomas had 2 sacks in a game.
Bryan Thomas was never guy who'd get two sacks a game. Maybe on a couple of occasions, but never consistent enough. He's been what I'd call a slightly above pass rusher and an excellent run stopper. I didn't pay much attention to McIntyre but Im planning on getting the NFL Rewind where I can watch the games from coaches cam. I think that's a great addition by the NFL.
It would really be a blessing to find a gem at the OLB position so fingers crossed. Also he's a really down to earth guy who got to the NFL travelling the long road (CFL) so you can't not root for the guy. Too bad he's 28 already. Slightly out of topic... has Maybin done anything so far?
There's nothing above average about Bryan Thomas's pass rush, which is funny since he was drafted in the first round as a pass rusher.
I heard he gained 60 lbs for week one and then lost 75 pounds for week two. Other than that... ...no.
He missed Redman or Dwyer (don't recall which) coming out of the backfield early in the game for more than 10 yards and a first down. Other than that, he played very well filling in.
McIntyre did really well. If he & DeMario are ready to play big minutes next season Rex & Jets will be in great shape. It'll give them more freedom in the draft to go BPA and not worry about gaping holes. Perhaps those guys stepping up will allow Jets to draft safeties this draft & satisfy the entire secondary in the long run.
He's 27 and will be 28 at the end of November. He played very well vs the Steelers. I hope the CS gives him more playing time this season. This should be B. Thomas' final season. Could also be Calvin Pace's. We need to begin evaluating whatever we have at that position, -- the sooner the better. At best, I would describe B. Thomas as average pass rusher. Probably not even that well.
Actually, he made a good play to shed the block to deliver the first hit behind the line. Then Harris and Wilson missed him and he went for 10.
well at the most i would envision him would be a transition from thomas to an eventual upgrade at the position.
Cycles = steroid reference Minecraft = 8BIT GAMING WORLD i don't get it, but it used to be all the nerd rage.
How pissed are Jets fans gonna be when we get a pure pass rusher that can't stop the run? We've been spoiled with a very good run D for a while and just complained about the lack of pass rush.
Hell, the last pure pass rusher the Jets had was John Abraham and he wouldn't suit up for a playoff game because he had a stomach ache - so based on that I'll gladly take a pure pass rusher that isn't good against the run...
