I've been saying for months the top of this draft is weak........Jets are in a good position for value at #17. Agree about Osackpo...Boom/Bust. Enjoy the read!!! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/04/07/draft/index.html
very good point, I also think that the needs for certain teams also affects this, for instance it is pretty rare that a RB does not go in the top 10 and this year it looks like the Jets could be the first team to pick a running back, both of whom are both top 10 talent if the needs of the teams had changed
It is getting closer to draft time now and there are a few players I REALLY want. Jeremy Maclin Knowshon Moreno Tyson Jackson Bryan Cushing These are the four guys that I personally think will be good football players on this team. Hopefully the Jets can get one of them because they are some good football players.
I am hoping the Jets go after Snachez (only if they trade for Ocho Cinco). But I think as of now WR is a more pressing need than QB. Teams can win with bad QBs if they have weapons surrounding them: so in that case: I like Maclin and Harvin. 1. Maclin 2. Sanchez 3. Gilbert 4. Harvin 5. Britt
I'm not sure I agree with what he said about CBs... And it sounds like Orakpo has more Vernon Gholston in him then DeMarcus Ware from everything I've read..
I agree....CBs are decent this year, nothing great at the top, but good solid Rd 2-4 guys.. Next year the CBs will be thin in Rd 1. 3 Safeties could be drafted in Rd 1, before the 1st CB (Trevard Lindley)comes off the board in 2010.
There doesn't seem to be stars at CB but lots of depth at guys who are number 2s or nickles, but I also would not want any of them in early to mid round 1, this is kind of like the Justin Miller year, but not as boom or bust
I think Vontae Davis has the potential to be above average. Of all the players in the draft, i would love Maclin to fall to us, unlikely, but if we got him i would be a very happy chappy.
