He died after falling off the roof of his house. He was 75.

(McGee was the hero of Super Bowl I, after subbing in the middle of the game and having a huge game for the Packers)

A 75-year old man going on the roof of a house is weird. Even my grandfather, who was a very prideful and stubborn man (and looked very much like Vince Lombardi, by the way), would not go on his roof to clean leaves. He made me do it.

Anyway, McGee was a playboy and very funny.
McGee was a Packers announcer. One time a Cowboys receiver had a finger tip cut off because of an injury. McGee commented, "Thank God it wasn't a groin pull."

There was also the time during his playing career when Lombardi started a meeting with the very basics. He held up a football and said, "This is a football." McGee then said, "Slow down, coach. You're going too fast."

Its weird, they just showed this Chevy commercial during the Steeler game and McGee was in it as they interspersed NFL historic with regular people playing football and they showed the Packers breaking the huddle and McGee lining up.

I just jumped off my roof face first into the sidewalk after watching today’s game. No luck for me though…
