When i first heard the trades I was kind of down on the value we gave up. But looking at the outcome of the draft Iam very pleased with the two players we got. Darelle Revis is a shut down corner that you can leave on an island and he can shut down that WR. David Harris can hit with the best of them, NE was HIGH on him and the Jets were considering him at 25. WE got him a rd later. He is a leader and this could possibly allow Vilma to play the outside spot. When looking at the value at the two picks we would have had in the 2nd and third rd the talent dried up extremely quick and we would have been left with nothing. Also lets not forget we got Thomas Jones by trading down from high rd2 to low rd2.

People say look at the OL. Well true we need help but as I recall Ed Blanton and Nashon Goddard were getting very high reviews from teh Jets, maybe the Jets feel one of these guys can grab a starting spot on the line.

People say what about our DL. True it was a weak spot last year but we do have a 6th maybe this Thomas kid falls to us there and we get lucky. But let me say this we have a sleeper that many people are not really acknowledging and that Sleeper is MICHEAL HAYNES. This guy is just 26 and he has tremendous talent. His talent did not fit NO or Chicago, but I guarentee you if there was any system he would thrive in its this one. So we really did not need to worry about a DE spot. Haynes is young enough to grow and be a part of this team in the future.

No we are not turning into the Redskins we just realized that we did not want left with our hands in our pocket and all the talent drying up. So all in all a very good day for the JETS.

We found in 2 picks what most teams will need 6 or 7 to find...starters in need positions. The only benefit of stock-piling picks is you slightly increase your chances of getting lucky and finding a star, but how often does that happen outside of the first 3 rounds? Very rarely, especially in a draft as weak as this one. So if there was ever a year to go quality over quantity...this was it. Besides, we were a playoff team last season...this team needs tweaking, not an overhaul.

NT.....That the position that Jets' have to improve from outside. They might be able to patch-up the OL from the present roster & free-agents, but NT....Thats the position that Jets' will have to import a player at./ Whether its' this season or next.

I agree, but the NT prospects in this draft blow overall. We're gonna have to hope for a second day diamond in the rough at this point, if we're even really looking for one this year.

I don't think anyone would argue with that, but on the same token, there weren't any true NT prospects in this draft.

What some people also need to remember is that there is still another whole day to the draft. Maybe the Jets end up adding another pick or two.

Plus, there are still the June 1st cuts in which some valuable players will be made available.

I would've sweetened the pot further until I had the op. to take Okoye.

Okoye's a good build for a 3-4 DE or 2-gap 4-3 DT, not a NT. we have enough 3-4 DEs as it is.

Man he is still 19 .. he can still grow. Who know he might gain some serious weight and grow 1-2 more inches in height.
