The guy is 5'6. The most I see him doing is punt/kick return specialist. Maybe even a third down back. Then again this is the league where nobodies turn into stars , so who knows ?

Maurice Drew is talented, but he really just doesn't have enough size to be an every down back. 5 foot 6 is pretty damn short.

Except that he has tree trunks for legs.

I'm looking forward to seeing the kid play in the NFL, just not as a Jet.

Tree trunks he has...but the dude looks like a freakin midget. I'm sorry...I am a big fan of the guys who are small, but have the big hearts, but this guy is nothing more than a 3rd down back and a KR...

I agree he is short but so was Barry Sanders. Barry has 2" on him, but when you look at that lower body of his, all you see is strength, and lets look at some other small backs. Those legs are tree trunks. He will be hard to bring down, plus if he is in open space who is gonna be able to get in front of him?
    Too shifty
Warrick Dunn is not even his size weight wise, but they do have one thing in common. Powerful legs, and personally I think Drew's are larger. We've seen games where Dunn pushed for extra yards. When needed he has done it. Now I can understand when you get to the goal line it will be different, but get a bruiser in those situations. The Giants have one and so do the Falcons.
Get him if available later in draft....
    But it is IMHO.

i wouldn't mind spending Herm's comp. pick on him, as long as we've addressed the most important needs prior to that selection.

i watched several UCLA games this past year, and Drew has a lot of talent. Like y'all said, he has powerful legs and he's pretty stocky despite his height disadvantage. but make no mistake, when he gets in the open field, no one catches him from behind. he's especially dangerous when you set up a good screen for him because of his speed and shiftiness.

he's worth pulling the trigger on, but only at the right selection.

    cheers
