    Two things before I start:

    1. While I know we'll be receiving probably 4 comp picks, I'm not including these in the draft as nothing is confirmed yet. I will be including the extra third from the Revis deal.

    2. I think we'll go after (and sign) Jeremy Maclin in the offseason (the MM connection just makes too much sense), but I'm obviously not going to include that in this mock. I'm going to assume the basics (i.e. cut Sanchez, Holmes) but not anything else.

    Now the picks:

    1. Kyle Van Noy, OLB, BYU

Idzik may not give Rex a pick every draft like Tanny did, but he'll love this pick. Kyle is an extremely athletic well-rounded OLB that will finally fill out our front 7. Van Noy will line up with Coples, Harris, Davis, Wilkerson, Richardson, and Ellis/Snacks to make perhaps the best front-7 in all of football. He's the BPA, and fills a big position of need. Seems like a win-win here.

    2. Eric Ebron, TE, UNC

Start to give Geno some weapons. Ebron is a powerful blocker and a threat receiving the ball. Second best TE in his draft class, he will be good lined up with Cumberland in 2 TE sets. Will create mismatches down the middle of the field.

    3. Allen Robinson, WR, PSU

Giving Geno another weapon. He has good size and could be a threat in the red-zone. He's pretty solid and has high potential. Would look good next to Hill.

    3. Craig Loston, S, LSU

Will inject some life and athleticism that we've lacked (minus our one year with Landry) for awhile. He's fairly fast and can hit like a truck. We desperately need starting safeties.

    4. Michael Dyer, HB, Louisville

First round talent, 7th round off-the-field issues. I think he'll end up around here. Started at Auburn, went to Arkansas State, then to community college, and is now at Louisville. He's already 23, but has only played two years of football. He's extremely talented, and would help our RB rotation immediately. If he busts, it's only a fourth round pick. That's what we paid for Ivory last year. I'd much rather have Dyer than Ivory.

    5. Colt Lyerla, TE, Oregon

See the pick above. Many NFL execs are thinking he's not going to get drafted, but I'd take him here in the 5th. Would go along with the competition mantra Idzik preaches, and again, he's a first round talent. Can't argue with that value here.

    6. Jeremy Gallon, WR, Michigan

Jeremy is 5'8, but he can catch the football. He's not a burner, but he has underrated speed, runs very good, clean, and quick routes, and has very good hands. Would be a great slot guy in this league.

    7. Andrew Miller, C, Virginia Tech

Very talented center who has missed the last year due to an ankle injury. When he was hurt, Virginia Tech struggled running the football. He'd be a much better back-up center than our current "depth" at the o-line.

    Thoughts?

I like it, I like Van Noy, but if theres anyway we can get Mike Evans thats who we should target. Thats the guy we need to pair with geno. Also, I think Ebron will end up going late 1st.

But imagine Evans/Ebron with our first 2 picks? Dam

If Mike Evans lasts until 16, by all means go for it. I just don't think it'll happen- and I don't want to trade up to get him.

Personally at 16 I'd rather have Khalil Mack if we go OLB. Nothin against KVN but Mack has wayyy more game breaking potential. Everythin else would be fuckin tits. Imagine Ebron n Lyerla as a dual TE set with Hill, Maclin, n Kerley?? Esp if Hill figures it out n starts being what he can be?? It'd be amazng to watch

Loston is a borderline 1st round pick and probably gone by mid-second.

I like it. I'm not a fan of Maclin so I hope we don't get him. I'm on the Mike Evans wagon but if we fall out of reach I'd love Van Noy in 1 then someone like Jordan Matthews in the second.

I like Ebron as well, I see him as a late first but things can change.

I've seen him as an early second on some draft sites and an early fourth on others. He's been very so-so the last two weeks or so, which is why I put him in the third at the moment. He could very likely shoot up as the season progresses.

EDIT: And about Ebron, tight ends always seem to fall. Last year we were talking about Eifert/Ertz definitely both going in the first, and then Ertz drops to the second. Especially with the amount of QB and better WR talent compared to last year, I definitely think it's possible Ebron will drop. Again though, we'll have to wait and see.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

If you reverse those first two picks you might be on to something.

Damn what happend to Colt? I don't watch college football, but many mocks before had him as a 1st or 2nd rounder.

I like that you took guys with off field issues. It's always a risk, but I rather take those talented but troubled guys, than picking a guy that you don't really think he'll be anything.
