Sign this beast!! He skipped the visit to the White House and missed voluntary camp. Now he is expected to miss training camp. "When the Seattle Seahawks convene for mandatory minicamp next week, the team doesn't expect star running back Marshawn Lynch to be there, according to sources familiar with the team's thinking. Lynch, who skipped the team's visit to the White House in May, and reportedly hasn't appeared at any of the team's voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) thus far, is thought to be unhappy with his contract, though it's not clear if that is the only football-related reason the running back is considering skipping or reporting late to minicamp. Entering the third year of a four-year deal the running back signed with the Seahawks in 2012, Lynch is set to earn a base salary of $5 million this year and $5.5 million next. Lynch skipping OTAs wasn't a surprise, as the running back missed some offseason sessions last year, but this would be the first time Lynch has skipped a mandatory minicamp since entering the league as the 12th overall pick of the Buffalo Bills in the 2007 draft."
He finally figured out that they rode his back to prominence and now they are probably going to kick him to the curb. He should have done this two years ago. He's watching all of those defensive players get paid and he's finally waking up to reality. Dude's fucked.
I am also unhappy about my salary. I wonder if my boss would bump up my salary if I skipped work a few days and hold out. All kidding aside, he was a big piece of the championship run last year. Without him, Wilson would definitely be exposed and even with their monster D, they couldn't have home field advantage to start with.
exposed as what? Wilson is legit. he was running for his life half the time last year as it was because of the poor O line play. the Seahawks are not going to give Marshawn a monster contract as good as he is, they have other running back talent on their roster already.
Bad wording on my part. Wilson is one of the smartest QB's. But if Lynch wasn't on the team, Wilson himself couldn't carry the team to a Superbowl. He would be pressured more.
Lol, this is what happens when you destroy the best offense in the league in historical fashion in the Super Bowl.
I just heard he's scheduled to make 7 million this year..and guy wants to hold out really? Losing respect tbh
C'mon, who didn't see the writing on the wall? Lynch is 28...they drafted Christine Michael in the 2nd round last year to be his replacement. Seahawks know Lynch will either begin his decline at this point or he will think he's worth more than he is. This will likely be Lynch's last year in Seattle as the feature back
Completely forgot about Turbin. Coincidence the Jets were interested in both Turbin and Christine Michael in their respective draft class? Maybeh
