One year prove it deal with not much in the way of guarantees. Lee is one of the more under-achieving players in the NFL at this point in his career. Part of that is playing with crappy QB's and injuries but you have to lay a lot of the blame at his feet. He's been a tentative player unwilling to take risks to date. This is his last contract coming up unless he finds the form he had at USC, where he was a scary player in a multi-dimensional pro set.
Agreed, I was hoping maybe Darnold could use that USC connection, would like to see Lee get another shot.
Patriots snagged him. I'd be really worried if Brady was still there. Not so worried by their other options at this point.
