The Jets should only keep Coleman on the field outside of blitzing for limited coverage so they don't know his sole gift is the strip sack. Just to keep them honest. I love his nose for the ball when he's coming at a QB from the blindside, and he's a pretty good STs player. But he should never be higher than 3rd team outside the hash marks, and never be on the depth chart for slot coverage.
As I think has become painfully obvious to nearly every Jets fan this year, playing in the slot is extremely different than playing outside. Cole has been playing very, very well recently going back to the Pitt game. Can he play in the slot? I dunno, but we already know that Coleman can't so let's hope somebody, either Cole or Wilson steps up for us.
Putting aside yesterday which was pretty much meaningless I have seen Cole making plays for a few weeks now.
I don't know what the answer is, but I do know that if Coleman is our NB on Saturday Peyton Manning will rape him until he gets benched.
^True, but you could also put Cromartie on Wayne, Revis in the slot and Coleman/Wilson/Cole on Garcon. I think it could be worth a look for that main reason - none of our backup corners can cover in the nickel, and Revis can.
unless of course he is suggesting Cro goes on wayne (not like they havent had their battles in the past..) and then Revis covers the slot. Also a bad idea, because then you have Pierre Garcon (a better player than white) guarded by well, drew Coleman again. After Garcon raped us last year, i say we cover Garcon, and trust our young guys to cover the udfa blair white.
blair white has like 32 receptions on the year, in more games than garcon who has 60. Garcon ass-raped us last year in the AFCCG. how about we don't play cover by comittee on him and let our young guns cover the slot with safety help?
Hopefully Cromartie can have another 3 INT game against Manning. I think you have to lock Revis on Manning and Cro on Garcon. Take our chances with the practice squad guys beating us.
fuck no. I know we fuck around with 'tall receivers' but drew coleman cannot cover a tall receiver, and manning will find coleman every play...id still rather have coleman in the game though.
I'd rather have Cole in for coverage, but Coleman has been great blitzing the QB and causing fumbles this year,
