    http://nfl.fanhouse.com/2010/09/15/mark-sanchez-mildly-takes-on-joe-namath-over-jets-offense/

Namath is right in each aspect during this article, granted the offense Namath had (correct me if I'm wrong) some good WRs and Namath himself wasn't a shabby QB either, but he as well had a strong running game in Emerson Boozer and Matt Snell, reading this article, it just seems to me that Sanchez is content on having a strong running game and a sub-par passing game and isn't willing to step up and say, we need better production we need to throw the ball more, he just doesn't seem confident in himself right now. I don't like that attitude from Sanchez, it seems that that brash, confident kid we drafted is disappearing and eventually that attitude will be long gone...

Great ones want the ball in any situation, Rain, shine, snow, hail, great defenses whatever the fuck is out there they want the ball, I want this team to live or die with this kid, it may work out it may not, but the Jets will never know until they try.

Yeah. I'm a bit disappointed with Sanchez going the "...we want an all weather team..." but that is all coach speak spoon fed.

They have a philosophy and want it ingrained in his head. and that's how its going to be.

He's being respectful and not stepping on any toes, which is fine.

I think this kid wants to win with it on his shoulders, because he had to do that against the Colts. Sadly he was a rookie. It wasn't going to happen.

I'd like for the CS to put it on his shoulders though. They won't do it, they want the QB to be a cog in the machine. I disagree. He has to be able to make plays - safe plays, but make those plays down the field. He can do it, we've seen it... now let him go get it.

Namath's Jets offense was better than this offense. He had better receivers (HOFer Don Maynard & George Sauer) and running backs (Snell & Boozer). Mark Sanchez doesn't understand that Namath's team was also a running team when it wanted to be. Matt Snell and Emerson Boozer were both very good running backs. Mark should not comment on this stuff except to say that Joe is a legend and we are trying to achieve what Joe achieved. Leave it at that Mark and get back to work on improving.

I think hes just trying to stick up for the coaches. I think one thing that is overlooked is how cohesive this teams seems. When media calls out players the coaches stick up for them and sanchez is doing the same

Needless to say, if you can sling the ball around the field, running the ball gets a lot easier. If the passing game was existent Monday, the running game would have been better (minus the flags and fumbles).

I'm just sick of this CS babying him and having this complex offense, no one has ever had true long-term success in Schotty's system.

We need to break down the offense and make things simpler not just for Sanchez but for the team in general, all this motion crap, the opposing defense doesn't give a flying fuck if were going to end up checking it down anyway or have some dumb out-route that can't generate YAC

Hopefully sometime this week he sits down with Schotty and tells him how he really feels about the offense and what needs to be done, letting Schotty have all the say will ruin this team and destroy the morale of our young QB

    Somethings got to give.

Remember on Hard Knocks they kept saying "This is Mark's team" etc. Then they handcuffed him vs. Baltimore. Unfortunate, but could be a good lesson.

    To the CS, definitely.

I would speculate if Mark would ever be vocal and pissed towards coaches during a game, but he was raised to never do that by his family. hmmmm

At the same time if shit ain't working Sanchez needs to do what's right, and not bow down. Express yourself, have respect but at the same time address what is wrong, that is what a leader does at the end of the day, and not to the media but behind closed doors. From a mental standpoint there's only so much these players can take if things aren't going the way they should. Frustration can be a hell of a bitch

At the end of the day if this whole BS offense continues someone's going to say something and it won't be pretty [First guess would be Braylon, even though he's in a contract year]

Yeah it is funny to know the old man stays relevant with technology.

    He's our own Richard Bronson.

Namath is right and MS has a point with the drops and shows he has faith in Shotty's system which by the way is all he has at the moment.

Flacco constantly threw down field putting the pressure on. Sanchez looks gun shy. This is a 180 reversal of last years start. Rex allowed him to sling it around and made him look like a gunslinger hence the 20 int's. To me that's the way to go. Sanchez seems more upbeat when he plays loose. To me that is what gives him the it factor. He may throw more picks but a lot of the greats did too. Favre is still throwing them.

Just let the receivers know it's coming and put the onus on them. Pressure offense and pressure defense. This particular game was unique against that defense but this offense has a lot of potential. Even though the great Namath has spoken I can find no fault at his observations. We still have a season to play.

I look forward to a rematch in the playoffs against Ray Lewis.....

Sanchez is a player, not a manager. Let the kid play.

I kind of chuckled at that too. I wonder what a guy Namath's age tweets on a regular basis?

"just took the wrong pills... hard 2 read da labels now, lol!"

    "gettin up 2 P... again!"

(No disrespect intended toward Broadway Joe.)

    Still funny.

"Viagra is awesome" would be another... But if Viagra and twitter were around during his playing days, I can see him saying it then too.
