As Per Chris Mortensen on ESPN. Sanchez will seek a second opinion this week from Dr. James Andrews. Mortensen also mentioned it isn't a season ending injury. EDIT: Mortensen also tweeted it out: https://twitter.com/intent/user?screen_name=mortreport You saw Mark Sanchez throwing lefty. That's because docs believe he has partially torn labrum. 2nd opinion this week from Dr Andrews.
Terrible news especially when Bluto caused the injury and should have been fired on the spot but Woody has no balls.
I never wish an injury on anyone, but if it's a partially torn Labrum AND it requires surgery he's out probably 5-8 weeks, minimum.
In other words the Jets will either be doing well with Geno or out of the race...either way I don't see Sanchez playing another game for the Jets. If they're out of the race at that point they'll ride Geno to see if he improves as the season progresses. If they're winning with Geno then they won't pull him in favor of Sanchez.
Probably sign Brady Quinn tommorrow, don't root for injuries, except to Tom Brady and any Dolphin, but this will make the Geno transformation easier...
Probably needs surgery considering he's seeking a second opinion. Tough deal for Sanchez to get like this in a preseason game. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
In a way it kind of works out if favor of the Jets long term, it removes any temptation to pull Geno in favor of Sanchez should Geno be a little slow out of the gate. But it's also bad because it kills any trade value Sanchez might have had. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sanchez on the IR soon.
