He worked out for us but I see no reports. I think that is a good thing as far as how the new regime is operating. Don't get me wrong, tomorrow stories may come out but at that point that may be agent leaks. At least information is not a sieve as in the past and while I would like the information it may be best that it isn't wide open.
Just doing due diligence in addition to smokescreen. In the very slim chance that Mariota falls, they want to make it look like they value Mariota. In addition to the fact that if he falls, they might want to take him as well and need to know about him.
I disagree, if they were trying a smokescreen they wouldn't have had Woody make the quote arguing that Geno would be a starter over Mariota, etc. They may be playing mind games, but so is everyone. No one but Woody, Mac, Bowles and some other important Jet management/scouts know just how much (or little) we want Mariota on this football team. I wouldn't be surprised either way.
I don't believe that religion has any place in sports. But if we get Mariota, I swear that I will go back to my Methodist roots and do John Wesley proud.
I am amazed at the amount of press that is against trading up in the draft. I will admit that it is a really bad concept and usually sets a team back. But after the whole RGIII trade, you would think the NFL itself is planing to do away with the concept. There are just so many ways to obtain talent nowadays, that an organization can't afford a move like that.
If teams continued to trade up after the Ricky Williams trade, why wouldn't after the RGIII trade? RGIII is still young; WAS may still come out on top on that trade up.
