That's an outstanding 40 time relative to his size ... to be 6' 7"/295 and register in the 4.7's is exceptional Keep in mind, this cat has Reggie White type size
I think his official time came in at 4.67. All the talk about the offensive prospects at the top of the draft, but as time goes on I'm really starting to think that the biggest locks of this draft are all on the defensive side of the ball (Williams, Hawk, Huff).
No doubt, GH ... because of Reggie Bush and the high profile QB's, the blue-chip defensive players are recieving less attention than they deserve but there are some darn good ones As for Mario Williams, in another class without Reggie Bush, a few highly rated QB's, and teams in need of a QB at the top of the board, Super Mario is the type of player you could see going #1 Overall ... 295 Pound DE's who are also terrific edge rushers are a rare breed ... Julius Peppers weighed 282 and he went #2 Overall
I'm officially on the Mario Willaims band wagon. This guy is scary. I watched him run a 4.67 and he was pissed, he is friggin huge with a huge frame and just a junior.
We have to take Mario Williams. He is a beast. I'm not sure if he's as strong as Richard Seymour or as quick as Julius Peppers but I think he comes in somewhere in between and should be able to be very effective against the run and pressuring the qb. Players like that just don't come around too often.
