I was listening to Colin Cowherd this morning and he stated that Vince did not get the lowest score on the Wunderlic test this year. That honor belonged to Marcus Vick who got a 12. I dont care who his brother is or what talent he showed at VT, stay away from this guy at all costs. No 7th rd pick on him. No signing as a UDFA. He will end up like Mo Carlett.
I totally agree that this guy is an idiot - this was apparent before this news came out based on his actions. BUT - if you can get him for a 7th round pick and we haven't already picked up a QB - why not take a flyer on him? :shit:
ill take the 7th rd flyer, you never know what the kid can do, think AI only with shoulder pads, probably not the leader that iverson is though.
Hell, Miami wasted a 2nd round pick on Feeley a couple of years ago, and even though he scored better than a 12, he still sucked... The wonderlic means absolutely nothing in terms of talent. I'm not saying M. Vick will be great, but is judging him based on a stupid test, actually the best way of finding out what he'll be able to / not able to accomplish in the NFL???... I'd certainly use a 7th round pick on him....
The Wonderlic means plenty when it comes to having the brains to play in the NFL...especially a QB! So, which question did he get right? "If you are in a McDonalds and someone threatens you, what do you do? a) run away fast b) offer to buy him a quarter pounder with cheese meal c) ask if Ronald McDonald is in the house d) go to your car, get out a gun, and go back in and threaten the guy back?"
I think a seventh rounder would definitely be worth the risk. Most seventh rounders don't even make the team, and with Vick, at least there is potential. Also, I find it somewhat ironic that in a thread criticizing someone for doing badly on a test that measures intelligence, the test itself is spelled incorrectly in the title.
From what I can recall, Dan Marino posted a semi-retarded score as well. Not sure if the test is the best for gauging a quarterbacks on field intelligence. Guys like Terry Bradshaw are dumb as a bag full of bags but it doesn't necessarily mean they make horrible decisions on the turf. If you want to further back this up, read Bo Jackson's book. The guy said if he could be anything in the world he would be an airplane...Not a bird or even a prehistoric pterydactl... an inatimate object... Yet the guy will bust out a 221 yard game on your ass. Oh yeah, dont f*ck with Bo in Techmo Bowl either. He gets 500 yards per game easily.
He's a poor man's version of his brother.....and his brother sucks Even if he was a good sammaritan and a genius I wouldn't want him witha 7th rounder
I couldn't care less about the Wunderlic, really, but he seriously makes Mo Clarett look like Mother Teresa. Pass.
