Not exactly earth shaking. If he turns out good, it's a nice pickup. If not, they don't exactly lose the farm on it.

i am surprised he isnt getting a look at QB just a little bit consiering that his brother Mike even admitted to SI that his little bro Marcus will be a better QB than him in the NFL...

I hear the rumblings of Blitzkrieg coming to lay a smackdown on us all for having a laugh at the Phins expense, he may be an alright signing as long as his attitude can be put in check, he is a good athlete, maybe Teal and Orange will now be a more intimidating team that the Silver and Black

No, I don't really care about the addition of Vick. I'm not even sure where he'll fit in at this stage. I don't think Saban has any plans for him at QB. Time will tell, but I think he'll be lucky to make the final roster....

Legions of dumbas%^ at Finheaven.com are about to explode with joy.

That is the lamest site full of the most idiotic fans you can ever come across.

At least most of our fans have some dignity and common sense. Fans in there would be happy if their team signed every criminal under the sun. And most of 'em don't even care if the guy can play or not. If he's a bad boy, they want him.

Its really pathetic. These young Dullphin fans probably own Federline's CD.

i have found most fanbases are the same so I think most fans would justify the signing and would be positive about it but what is funny is finheaven had a huge thread making fun of the Bills for drafting the UVa player that cheap shotted the BC player and now they have sign vick. I wondre if they will say the same things they said about the Bills?

Exactly. They might as well just sign him and give him a shot. That's why there is training camp and stuff.

I don't think the Jet fan is as anxious as these Mensa members in Finheaven to sign bad guys. I wouldn't like Marcus Vick in any case, even if we hadn't drafted Brad Smith.

There were dozens of posts on their site supporting Vick and shouting down anybody who doesn't weeks before they signed this clown.

They don't even know/care who can actually play as evidenced by the same fans' blind support for thug/steroid abuser David Boston.

The level of discussion in here is so far above the drivel in Finheaven its not even funny.

The one thing about Saban that you have to be happy about as a Jet fan is that he seems to have a lot of Jimmy Johnson in him- he's willing to sign any, and I mean, any criminal if he thinks that guy can help him.

Sooner or later the bad apples will hurt the Fishies.

Chambers could take him under his wing as a WR, he has been a solid guy, Marcus seems to have the attitude of the smack addict on "playmakers". The guy does have athletic ability, but he may be wasted because he cannot act right

Dolphins sign Marcus Vick to free-agent deal

Dolphins sign Marcus Vick to free-agent deal Click here to find out more!
    NFL.com wire reports

MIAMI (May 15, 2006) -- The Miami Dolphins saw enough potential in Marcus Vick -- both on and off the field -- to believe he deserves a chance as a free agent.

Vick, the brother of Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick, signed with the Dolphins May 15, agreeing to a free-agent deal after his many problems at Virginia Tech cost him a chance to be selected in the NFL draft.

"As an organization, we did an enormous amount of research, including consulting with professionals in detailed, in-depth analysis to feel comfortable that giving Marcus an opportunity as a free agent is a risk worth taking," Dolphins coach Nick Saban said in a statement released by the team.

"I want to make it very clear that we will not condone any behavior issues in the future relative to Marcus Vick. Marcus acknowledges that he has made some mistakes, all of which has resulted in severe consequences for him. They have helped him learn that he will need to make much better choices and decisions in the future or risk similar consequences that could jeopardize his career as a professional player."

Vick, who participated in a three-day minicamp with the Dolphins earlier this month, completed 177 of 289 passes for 2,393 yards with 17 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, leading Virginia Tech to an 11-2 record and berth in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game in 2005.

But his career with the Hokies included many transgressions. He made an obscene gesture to fans during a game at West Virginia, and stomped on Louisville player Elvis Dumervil's leg during the Gator Bowl.

Vick was suspended by Virginia Tech for the 2004 season because of legal problems, then was eventually dismissed from the team after being stopped for speeding and driving with a revoked or suspended license.

The Dolphins are listing Vick as a "wide receiver-quarterback-specialist," clearly indicating that he could be tried in a number of roles.

During the recent minicamp, Vick spent at least one practice session at wide receiver, and probably isn't being looked at as a serious quarterback candidate -- not with newcomers Daunte Culpepper and Joey Harrington now at that position.

Miami signed three other free agents: tight end Keith Heinrich, linebacker Keith Newman and cornerback Michael Lehan.

Heinrich was on Cleveland's injured reserve list for the entire 2005 season with a knee injury and has played in 18 games since being drafted by Carolina in 2002.

Newman has played with Buffalo, Atlanta and Minnesota in seven seasons, starting 76 of 92 games and recording 407 tackles, 23 sacks, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and seven forced fumbles.

Lehan, like Vick, attended the rookie minicamp this month on a tryout basis. He spent the last three seasons with the Browns and made 32 appearances, including four starts.

    1. You posted in the wrong section.

    2. It has been posted two times already.

No offense to you, but it would help if people check out if news was already posted, especially breaking news.
