Anyone else forget about him? I was watching the end of the 7th and all of a sudden his name came up and I was like WTF? I would have loved to see him on the team over Marcus Henry. What do you guys think?

I was surprised to see Henry taken instead of Marcus Monk, or Adarius Bowman, or Adrian Arrington, but obviously the Jets like Henry...

I had a lot of questions with a lot of the moves made by the jets in the draft. You have to force yourself to realize though that this is only a hobby to us whereas to the Jets Staff it is their job and they are 'good' at it. I trust them.

Yeah, I agree. I trust the pick, I was just more shocked that Monk lasted that long. Big kid with pretty good speed, and a very high character guy.

No...The Jets' didn't do so good. The 1st pick was a no brainer. The Jets' still have big holes & I don't see theem being addressed. Namely DE/DT/NT & OL. There is no quality depth there....so to me, there isn't much improvement since the signing of F.A.'s.

Monk had some injuries and Bowman can't catch anything.

Arrington and Henry are about even if you ask me.

Marcus Henry=Poor Mans Keyshawn Johnson.... They might(FO) not admit it but they never were the same on offense after Key left so they tryin to fill the void... big possesion receiver with average speed jump balls and redzone and over the middle type player which we lacked for a couple of years

I would call marcus henry, more Camp Fodder. Jets need a playmaker on offense. Keller not going to fill that void his first year. First he can't block, Tough to get on the field alot, and will be used only in obvious passing situations. Hes a rookie. Not many TEs/WRs come in, and excel in their first years.

TC reports that his top speed is not anything impressive- so I can see him being used in Red Zone sets with Franks and Baker. I hope that he is an expert at jump balls, its the only way he'll crack the 4th spot. Stuckey still has a great chance to be the #3 guy if healthy.

The coaches see him as a project, but I think he makes the roster.

He put up big numbers his last year at Kansas. I can see him developing into a decent receiver -- someone like former Big 12 Justin Gage of the Titans. If the coaches can turn Henry into a 40-50 catch possession/vertical receiver, then they have succeeded with this pick.

Henry's behind Stuckey, Smith, and Wright on the depth chart NOW, and he probably won't contribute much in 2008, but I can see him become a valuable role player in '09. When Coles retires, we're going to be very thin at receiver, so I hope Smith and Henry develop into solid 2's. Stuckey should be very good in the slot this season if he stays healthy.

Lets just put it this way Marcus Henry no Chaz Schilens 6'4 225 4.37 43' vertical.
That the one thing you can't teach is speed. James Lofton (raiders Wr coach) has another Vincent Jackson type to hopefully develope.

This is the draft board.. Just like Mcfadden was the guy Jets wanted, they had to setlle for Gholston. Just like T branch was peobably the guy Jets wanted, they had to settle for Lowery. Just maybe Schilens was there guy too, but had to settle for Henry.

All I said was you can't teach speed, and James Lofton will be asked to try and develop him like he did with Vincent Jackson. So where did i say he was going to be a superstar.

posted on 8/24 if a different thread-
    It is not surprising.

    http://forums.theganggreen.com/showp...8&postcount=11

Monk had a horrible drop at the end of the Chiefs-Bears game. I mean, it was Todd Pinkston awful. Monk heard the footsteps of a couple Chiefs DBs, got scared, bobbled the ball a couple times and let it fall to the turf. Most gutless play I've seen this summer.

    new thoughts on 8/28-
Let's look at this further. The guy was drafted by the Bears only four months ago. The team does not have a good WR situation. Chances are he sucks.
