Was gutty as heck and absolutely the right thing to do. You are playing the Colts with Peyton Manning. You don't beat them kicking field goals. Mangini is the goods.

Looking back on it, I agree. I was initially pissed, but in hindsight, I can see what Mangini was thinking. It was a porus D that lost it for us.

Its hard to agree with you , but I do. If we had pulled it off it would have been a remarkable decision. But it didn't work.

I would say though that if you have a chance to score against these better teams....you have to take it. I think a lesson learned.

The only problem I have with it is that we only have one true TE that can catch, and that's Baker. I'm not even close to sold on Ryan, and Dearth is a damn long snapper, if we had Hilton active, maybe it would've had a better shot...

From the 1, yes. From the 2 and a half, it's stupid. Stupid. No question about it.

You take the lead and worry about the consequences later.

i guess if you don't think the D can stop the Colts, then you go for it. at that point, I would have been happy with the lead.

that play didn't lose the game for the Jets

He made the right call in that point of the game. There is no saying that Indy kicks the FG had Jets kicked one. Maybe they go for it on 4th if the Jets are up 17-14. Absolutely the right call. Just a bad play call, he rolled to the right and there was one TE to the right.

I'm not upset with that call. We had the lead at 2 minutes left. Just keep them out of the endzone. Apparently that was too much to ask for.

I'm OK with it. I'll say it again, they've already shown more signs of potential than they did under 5 years of Hammerhead Herm.

Think about it, Jolley would still be here, Blaylock would be the vertan back, so he'd see every single snap, and lest we forget.....3RD 16 DRAWS EVERY DRIVE!

absolutely the right call. he made it not thinking it would be intercepted but at worst have them in bad field position. but shit happens and penny got picked for the first time in the redzone.

good call mangini i like it... we lost because of our run stoping. secondary did decent all day until manning needed to step up, and he did.

very pissed off, but proud of these jets and i have a feeling im gonna be for a while.

I agree. Despite what Dan Dierdork says, you can't add missed points to points scored later...any score changes the rest of the game.

No it was not the right thing to to do. Well, maybe in High School football it is, but not in the NFL. They weren't on the 1 foot line, they were beyond the 2,and the was the wrong call. It isn't even open to debate, IMO. If Mangini learns from it, then I'm fine with it.

You had to make one freakin stop and you win. Can't ask for more then that. Guys a really good coach. Instead of being applauded you have morons on this site with the gaul to have threads putting him down. That's a joke.

That isn't playing to win. It's playing stupid. There is a big difference.

When I read your post, I realize something. I understand Manginis play calling.

But who knew the game could have been won if we had kicked the FG....
