We lost by 3 to a team that has much better talent than we do. We have a coach who was willing to go for the throat and take chances. Our coach decided to allow our Offensive Coordinator to call a play that had been practiced and probably was called due to defensive tendencies picked up on film study. This play depended heavily on selling the run action, I'll have to watch the tape, but I don't think the run got sold very well in a spot where the fake had to be tremendous since it wasn't exactly a run-only situation. After rolling out and finding the long-snapper/TE (who was supposed to go unnoticed because of the run-action) double covered, Chad should have thrown the ball into the stands, leaving the Colts penned inside their 3 yard line. Maybe the extra 17 yards wouldn't have made a difference, but I'd still like them to have to earn it. In a resfreshing change from recent history, our coach didn't blame the OC, didn't blame the execution of the play, but said, Hey, it's all on me--and I'd do it again (with an unspoken, "So, F-You", IMO) So now we've got an unapologetic coach with a full size pair of 'em hangin' between his legs. Me? I got no problem with that.
