Likes Clemmens because of his "infectious" personality.... Chad is working his way back and is competing at the same level as everyone else for the QB spot.... Brad Smith will play WR and also fit in at other spots.... Leon Washington: likes his running style and blocking..... Wants good players with good character...... Ferguson will play LT but can also play RT.....
Boring is good if you're a coach. The games are supposed to be exciting the coaches and GM's should be boring as hell. Not Marty Schottenheimer boring, but close...
The key thing he said is Chad will come in and throw in late May under medical supervision. They have no illusions about Chad playing QB for the NY Jets.
The Jet's do not need a college perfesser as their head coach. They need a hard-driving student of the game who can motivate players to play hard and that's what Mangini's rep was in New England. The best Jet's head coach of my fanship (1970-present) was Walt Michaels and half the time you couldn't tell what he was saying.
He learned from Belichick and to be honest, Belichick doesn't sound too bright when he's talking either. One obvious/empty statement after the next. I'm not going to put too much weight on how he talks. They're making good decisions in the front office, and if his coaching decisions are as good that's all that matters.
Michaels was a pyscho motivator. I remeber he put the winners cash share on the table in front of the players during the playoff run.
What i dont understand is that when I was in Florida in February at a place called IMG where Chad was rehabbing and working out-he was already throwing-either the Jets are trying to keep it a secret or Chad wanted to surprise the Jets and i just blew his secret
