I don't like either but voted for Mangini. I say trade both Vilma and Robertson for picks. Acquire an OL or two through FA and spend most of our draft on DL and LBs. Assuming, of course, that we are staying in a 3-4.

We have to get something good for vilma if it's clear that he's not going to work at the club.

If they are gonna trade Vilma , get rid of D-Rob too and we better get a 1st rounder for J-Vil

    This one's tough...

Now obviously, if Mangini stays, Vilma goes....

But let's assume Mangini leaves.... And Harris finishes the last 8 games and looks like a Pro Bowler...

What do we do? Do we trade Vilma and bring in a coach who wants to run the 3-4, with Harris as the centerpiece? Do we keep Vilma and bring in a coach who wants to run the 4-3, and move Harris outside?

I really don't know.... But if we're switching back to a 4-3, I'd like Vilma to be around for it, because otherwise, we're going to see him flourish elsewhere

Vilma is a good player but he is a finese player. Do you really want to build a finese D around Vilma or do you want to build a feared D around Harris?

Losing Mangini will set us back another 3 or 4 years. Losing Vilma will help us move ahead. The choice is simple.

Vilma goes and Mangini stays.....the 3-4 and Mangini aren't going anywhere, so there's not much of a choice.

We aren't trading Vilma after he has serious knee surgery. You don't trade a guy when his value is at it's lowest. You don't fire a coach after 2 seasons. The Jets have been in every game but the Pats game so it's not like we are getting blown out of the building. Vilma will be fine once he gets his knee fixed up and we put a real defensive tackle in front of him. Harris and Vilma can both be on the field at the same time. It's not one or the other.

This is true. I'd really rather see both Mangini and Vilma gone after the season. I'm willing to change my mind on Mangini but he better start coaching like an NFL coach again because I have no use for wanna-be's.

The way he's coaching right now he's a wanna-be Belichik.

i don't know. this is not a good sign for a new coach. Changing the system up enough to make our best defensive playe irrelevant.

I keep the proven player rather than the unproven coach.... Vilma is one of my favorite Jets, i prefer Mangini to Herm but then again I prefer Bill Cowher to Mangini....
