Whoa! I can see where that would piss off a few people. He's lucky he didn't take Namath's down while he was here.

    Ooops, forgot the link.

I saw this mentioned in the paper today. It seems like there has to be something else going on here, since why would he do something this mindbogglingly stupid?

    Cue the "Manmoron" posts ...

I'd love to know what the ownership had to say/think about this move... I would imagine they signed off on it too.

He learned that shit from Bill Callahan who did similar stuff at Nebraska. Callahan did not make many friends there.

Callahan should have been shot and buried behind the corn rows in Nebraska.

What can be gained from getting rid of a mural that lets current players know that the Browns franchise has a proud history?

    Dumb.

Fromarticle is definitely going places. Maybe he'll hook up with Rodgers-Cromartie. Gotta be related.

I wouldn't be too concerned. I'm sure he just laid the hell out of Mrs. Mangini and they'll give birth to young James Otto Mangini right around their October bye week.

But then she'll be fatter than him with bigger teats and show him up - LACTATING. Can't compete with that. Not happening.

    I'll bite.

Perhaps Mangini felt a mural honoring players FROM OVER 60 years ago doesnt really inspire the mind to greatness?

do any current browns players even no WHO those guys are? I've heard the names and understand they were legends but honestly i dont really give a crap either.

Its a little embarrassing that they have to sooo far back in their organization's history to see greatness. Maybe hes changing the culture in that regard?

Idk - perhaps that was a failed attempt at being the devil's advocate (can u tell i hate cleveland?)

    My guess is that either:

    a) It's a motivational ploy ("Get your picture up there by winning practice player of the week"); or
    b) It was a bad mural and he hated it.

I love that Cleveland people still think Jim Brown is going to beat someone up. He's gotta be close to 70. Mangini should buy a leather jacket and wear a funny little hat to win over Cleveland.

If he was 90 do you really think he would have any problem beating up Mangini?

I think Mangini's gotta be replacing the mural with something, and the article is just taking advantage, otherwise this is extremely strange. Alot of people seem to forget quickly, but Mangini is not stupid.

Not really ? the Browns won a superbowl?right after they moved to Baltimore. There is no history for the Cleveland browns?they?re an expansion team.
