Not to start the Herm bashing because I don't want to go there, but from what I've seen, heard and read, Mangini certainly seems like the caliber of coach that could redefine this franchise. It?s refreshing to hear some real intelligent football talk. Listening to him explain the mini-camp strategies, about getting players in position where they had to execute, and had to mentally go through "what the right thing to do" for that situation, was exciting to hear. This is what we?ve needed for along time.

I also like the reference, and obvious push to find and mold players with "good character" that are willing to sacrifice and develop team unity. I think this concept will ultimately benefit us in the long run, as you can maximize the talent of marginal players, and get them to play at a higher level. We may see some familiar faces that could blow our socks off this year.

I promised myself I?d go into this season with lowered expectations, so I wouldn?t be disappointed. It?s a process, and the program needs time. I?d be happy with a 6-10 or 7-9 season that showed promise. But maybe, just maybe, Mangini will surprise us, and we?ll win more games than we might have thought. LETS GET EXCITED?GO JETS!!!

stop....if Chad wins, then he deserves it. I've never wished him bad. He's just frustrated me with his inability to stay healthy. I will not deny he has great leadership qualities, and when he's been on the field, we've generally won the majority of the games. I just want consistency at the spot, whether its him, Ramsey or whoever.

this type of mindset always baffles me, that people actually attempt to fool themselves. the only thing more hysterical is when they actually accomplish fooling themselves. either it takes a brilliant mind to trick itself when it knows it is being manipulated...or the complete opposite.

Lol not exactly, he was complaining a few hours ago b/c I see his other post was moved to the Bullshit forum because it was highjacked.

The speed at which he changed for negative to positive is strange, but funny as hell.

This year is about figuring who stays and who goes. This will be a trial and error sort of deal. If we can have some solid direction and hope by the end of the year, that will be ok by me.

not to take such an inane response seriously, but I am just curious as to how your logic works.

how exactly was I fooled? and are you somehow mocking me in your declaration that the Jets will win the Super Bowl this year. I HOPE THEY WIN THE SUPERBOWL THIS YEAR! nothing in professional sports could make me happier. but you see, I don't need to trick myself into not thinking they will so I am not disappointed if they do not. taking that mindset from a seasons standpoint to a game by game standpoint, that would be like saying you expect the Jets to lose every game, so that in case they do you won't be disappointed. how can that even be remotely enjoyable?

I'm an optimist. that doesn't mean i go into every year thinking the team is going to win the super bowl, just that every season is a clean slate as far as I am concerned. sure, last years season always plays into how good I think the team may be, but when game time starts I am watching for the Jets to win and believing they can.

This is a wierd thread. I think it's time to fire up the bong, and read it again. Might make more sense then.
