    1. Alshon Jeffrey - WR - South Carolina - 6'4" & 230lbs

A BIG man who is extremely good in making adjustments for the ball... he catches with his hands, not his body. This is exactly the #1 WR Sanchez needs, tall and able to get balls not thrown very accurately.
I think he can become a very powerful run blocker on the outside.

I also like to think having a rookie WR, instead of a SB winning vet like Burress, would give Sanchez more leadership on him.
Having Jeffrey - Holmes - a FA (like Ward) - Kerley as our top 4 WRs wouldn't be bad.

    2. Vinny Curry - 34OLB - Marshall - 6'4" & 260lbs

I expect him to shoot up draft boards in rd 1 but for now he's considered a day 2 prospect so what the hell... I LOVE this guy, I think he will be a 8-10 sacks guy in his first year. His athleticism is off the charts and will only get better under Rex's tutelage. Having played at Marshall hurts his stock but he had good games vs good programs.
With the proper coaching he will develop into a complete OLB (good vs the run, not just vs the pass).

    3. Levy Adcock - RT - Oklahoma State - 6'5" & 320lbs

Solid run blocker who will probably develop as a competent pass protector. Let's give Ducasse and Hunter a run for the starting job. At worst he will be Moore's successor at RG. the Jets will be a running team in 2012 so we need OL.

    4. Brandon Taylor - S - LSU - 6'0" & 191lbs

Not the biggest guy in the world but he's a solid football player. Was surrounded by talent in the LSU backfield so his star didn't shine as much... but I think he can be a solid S for us. (Keep in mind I hope we'll add a FS in free agency).

    5. Philip Lutzenkirchen - TE - Auburn - 6'5" & 250lbs

What do we need? A blocking TE! When do we need it? Now! Fuck Mulligan.
Oh btw (since he will have to make adjustments to catch Sanchez's passes):

I have no idea who to get in the later rounds... sorry. I'll give you this as my rd 7 sleeper... Brandon Bolden, RB, Ole Miss, 6'0" 220lbs. Big guy with soft hands... would be nice to have around at least to give Powell a run for his money in TC.

I really love the first two picks, also if we add in compensatory picks, how many picks would we have?

Compensatory picks are assigned closer to the draft with a pretty complex algorithm. That said someone postured we'll have as many as 4 this year... which would be great for our depth...

We should have 4. I suspect Tanny might trade some of the non-comp picks to move up in the 4th/5th. We don't need 4 Scotty McKnights.

I still think Right Tackle needs to be the top priority this offseason and Adcock is fine but seeing is how Sanchez is seemingly going into his make or break year I would hate to enter the 2012 season thinking our RT play isnt going to improve

Other than that its a solid mock draft. Taylor brings alot of leadership

I like picks 1-4. Jeffery has skills to be a #1. I think hes got as good a set of hands as anyone in the draft. If he has just a decent combine i dont think he will be there at 16.

I like Curry in rd 2. I think he compares very good to Pace. I think his strength will be his ability to set the edge against the run. I mean he is big, strong and athletic. I can see him eventually turning into a 10 sack guy.

Adcock seems to be the most popular mid-round RT pick. Cant complain here but i dont think he would be a week 1 starter.

Taylor is interesting. I like him and what better than a safety from one of the best SEC defenses.

I think i read somewhere that the Auburn TE was going back to school. I could be wrong though.

Not a fan of Alshon. He just never got the separation even at college. Always seems to be hand fighting guys and then using his size to get the ball. Against superior talent in the NFL, however, I don't know how effective he can be. Michael Floyd is SOOO much better, it's not even funny. With Floyd most likely being already gone before we pick, I hope the Jets don't reach for Alshon...

I think we should go Pass Rusher in the first but if guys like Upshaw and Mercilus are off by #16 i wouldn't mind going wide out or even RT. Jeffrey is a big beastly skillful WR.

The thing is... if Kalil, Rieff and Martin are all gone by #16 (which I think is what will happen) what do you do?

Sanchez doesn't need a big play receiver, yet. He needs a solid defense to take pressure off of him and an offensive line that can give him time to make throws to good possession receivers. (Kerley and Keller) If he improves and involves then next year there is a damn good crop of receivers that the Jets can draft for him.

It's not about having a big play WR (who btw is always useful). It's about having a physical WR that can adjust to Mark's passes (not always the most precise QB on earth), be a force in the RZ and make his presence felt in the running game.

Jeffrey fits these 3 requirements very well in my opinion. He would be an ideal compliment to guys like Holmes, Kerley and even Keller who are a bit small at their position.

He doesn't need a big play receiver if he can't even get the ball to him.

KerleyFries best username ever, to stay ontopic, if we adress needs through free agency, then I think we should use our 1st pick on OLB/DE prospect.

I like Brandon Washington, though he didnt have a great season at left tackle. I like Datko and Sanders, Reynolds and Adams are ok. Adcock I'm not in love with, great run blocker but his pass protection is shaky
