Who do you think the Jets will draft in round 1 of the 2008 NFL draft? If you're calling a trade, up or down, have some stones and tell us who we trade with and what the package is.
For some reason I think the dumb ass Raiders will take McFadden, leaving the door open for us to take the BPA.... Vernon Gholston
shit.....i definitely see a trade down but I couldn't say with who, or what which person. Trade down is my best answer. And we'll stay at six for nobody short of Jake or Chris Long
We trade if McFadden is up there. Take defense if the right quality player is there. This thread shouldbe interesting come Sunday...
Logic: The Jets select Chris Long, at the #6 spot. Crazy Prediction: Bengals move up 3 slots to select DMAC or Ellis. We aquire the #9 and something else, to lazy to think that up. We then select Rashard Mendenhall.
jets trade with new orleans saints, jets get #10 +2nd round pick select leodis mckelvin with #10 overall
I am gonna say that the Jets get Vernon Gholston. As Ky Jetsfan said, the dumb ass Raiders will probably screw things up and take McFadden. I won't be upset with Gholston, I just really think Kellen Clemens needs some help on offense and we could be a very balanced team with McFadden.
Gloston if he is there at 6. I'm going to go out and say that there is no way in hell the Jets draft McFadden, I dont even think our front office is even considering it.
....The New York Jets have traded the #6 overall choice in the draft to the Carolina Panthers for the 13th and 43rd overall selections.....The Carolina Panthers select Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College... ...With the 13th pick of the 2008 NFL draft, the New York Jets have selected Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon... By the way, this is not out of my own biases and I believe that McFadden, Long, and Gholston are gone at #6. Also, I believe the little snippets we're getting that the Jets are in love with Stewart (like I said in another thread, it sounds exactly like it did last year with Revis) and if they can't trade down or don't feel comfortable doing so in fear of another team taking him over them, I don't think the Jets hesitate to pull the trigger on him at #6. The kid's got all you want in a RB and then some, and if he's 6th on their board I don't think they think twice about taking him.
I still think there is a great chance Miami will take Gholston because they can get him cheap. If that happens there will be a shitload of activity in the next 5 positions. That would leave both Longs, McFadden and Dorsey still on the board and a slew of teams who might be willing to trade up to get one of them. The fact it wouldn't be trading up to number 1 might make it doable for those teams. KC, Atlanta and St Louis may all be able to trade down and still get a player they would be happy with. With all of that, I have to believe the Jets take McFadden, Chris Long or try like hell to trade out. I don't see them taking Gholston even if he is there.
If the chiefs trade Allen I see Gholston and dmac being picked already and were stuck with Mckelvin at 6 which would be a blessing in disguise
Im feeling a trade down and with either Carolina or I saw a rumor about Detroit today also wanting Matt Ryan Ill select if that happens Kentwan Balmer If no trade down Ill go Keith Rivers Ive lost my love for Gholston I think he is a workout warrior
