So I am playing Madden as my main game now. I'm the type of guy who doesn't update every year but maybe every two years so I get certain aspects of the game ingrained in my expectations. It lead me to several questions about the game.

    1. Is there a way to change the camera angle or zoom amount? I can't see the outside of the field when I play. This was always true, but if you zoomed out before the snap you could get a better read and at least before you seemed to be able to see the WR make their cuts. If you are running an out or a comeback or a screen (or trying to defend against one as a Safety or Linebacker) forget it you can't tell what is going on off the screen. Is there a way around this or has anyone found a way to combat this? Otherwise you're throwing bombs and over the middle everytime.

    2. Is there any reason to do the practices each week? Are they continuous upgrades or only for that week?

    (more to follow...)

If you're talking about the 360/ps3 version (I have 360), then no you can't change the camera angle. Screen passes are money most of the time though, even though you can't see the receiver.

    2) As for practices, I think you're referring to Superstar mode, which I haven't touched, so someone else should help you out on that.

    I?m playing PC version.

1.Sounds like you play QB in Superstarmode, if so, you can?t change the camera, it?s part of the challenge. But i think you can look around by using the left analog-pad, or by holding down L2 and pressing the button of the Receiver you wanna look to.

    2. If you?re talking bout Superstar, you can only practice once a week, and the bonus is only for one game, so yeah, you should practice every week.

    I have two questions:

    (1) How do you slide when you are running with the QB? Every time I try to, I dive instead.

    (2) How does Superstar mode work? I don't get it. You create a guy and he winds up as a backup on a team. Then you control the team. What's the point if you're guy is a backup?

    1. You have to lightly tap the X button....but its a lil weird because sometimes I do dive and sometimes I slide.

    2. Never tried Superstar, however in previous versions you are able to control who starts and sits.

No before every game you can train the active roster on 360 version.

Rambo you are right you can train every week but the bonuses you get only last that week and imo its not worth it, only do the practices during preseason because those bonuses stay

In old Maddens you could click the right stick and reveal just your player's assignment on defense. Is a similar capability present in 08?

Also, in old versions you could audible out of the same formation. Instead of audibling from a 4 wide set to i formation you could audible to a 4 wide run play. Does this exist?

Also what is the deal with the cone. I know in the old versions it was on all the time and helped/hindered accuracy. Why bother bringing it up if you are playing 08? does it affect anything?

The QB vision? I think it makes the throw more accurate if you use it.

I'm not sure if it actually makes you more accurate but here's the reason to use QB vision:

Well, actually there are two reasons. The first is that it's more realistic because a QB does have to look left and right to survey the field.

The strategic reason to use it in Madden is because if you look at your WR on the left, the safeties will drift to him and then you can quickly switch to the WR on the right and he'll be more open.

It's also especially useful if you are using a screen. You start the play focusing on your RB. If it's an immediate blitz, dump it off. If it's not, you can look off the screen and throw a bomb. Or, if the WR is not open, you can look back to the RB and he'll be open (because the RB is generally not open on a screen if it isn't a blitz). I hope that made sense.

and it might take you some time to get into it, but once you can handle it, it?s pretty simple to do, you?ll do it without thinking. Try to learn it it?s worth it. one of the better features ea installed in the last few years

Yeah I mean I loved it in the first version when it was mandatory. But now if it is not it is hard to get into.

Leon just had 10 carries for 58 yards. Madden told me the avg was 5.7

Here's something about Madden that's always bugged me. Maybe there's a way around it I don't know about:

When I play in franchise mode, I play 6 minute quarters. I'd like to do 15 minute quarters but I just don't have the time or patience. So a few weeks go by and my defensive statistics are amazing and my offensive statistics are worst in the league because the other teams are simulated to be playing full games.

That always bugged me as well, but as you get better you tend to reverse the stats. My offensive stats are usually tops in the league and my defensive stats are mediocre because there is no way to match the amount of tackles.

Play 10 minutes, with the accelerated clock on, gets on average about 60 plays a game for each side witch is pretty even with the NFL.

And tackles are unmatchable because there are no assisted tackles in Madden, just solo tackles. So it's very rare to even get 1 guy with 100 tackles on the team. On average my top tacklers finishes with 60-80 (back on 07)

On '08 though, I signed Al Wilson at the start of my chise, and him and Vilma have been racking up tackles, like 8 to 10 a game ^__^

I shifted my defense a little bit (just to ramble on some more about Madden)

Ellis actually makes a prototyical 3-4 end in Madden with 89 str, so he is solid there, and so is Dwayne up the middle. I went through training came with Kenyon Coleman to bump his str up from 76 to 79 (If we base real life off of Madden, no wonder our defense gets bumped off the line, Kenyon Coleman is weaker than David Harris, and Hobson, and his attributes are almost identical to David Bowens, all whom weigh 40 pounds less than him)

Than I moved Barton to WOLB, and Hobson stayed at SOLB. I signed Al Wilson to play alongside Vilma and they have beasted it both racking up the tackles. Thomas backs up for me :breakdance:

I also signed Mike Williams to play RT

On another note, Eric Smith is actually more highly rated than you would think at 74, if you look at his attributes he is actually more athletic than Kerry Rhodes (and he's white :eek:hmy: ) but his awareness is just a bit low.

One last thing, who is this David Clowney guy on the update? He's like a Laveranues Coles clone but needs to improve his hands and awareness. I'm training him to start alongside Coles and Cotchery to take the slot.

he?s a rookie from Virginia Tech, he was a 5th round Pick by the Packers, and we signed him after they cut him.

if you wanna know more about him, i?m sure Rambo can tell you about every pass he ever caught.
