I have to say that I am pretty pleased with the way the game went today. Although I am very frustrated with the way the game ended I am in no way dissapointed with the effort. As I said in a few threads before this game, I believed that this was the hardest game on out schedule against the toughest team to beat in the league. Their offense is deadly and Peyton Manning and those WR's are just unreal. Now, I have seen these threads the last two weeks but I didn't want to start one until after Week 4 because I honestly didn't know what to believe for this team.

Now, looking ahead at the rest of our schedule I like the way it is looking. Next week is going to be a very tough game against a very good opponent. However, I think we have an excellent chance to win that game. Pennington's style of play (short, high percentage passes) seems to work very well against any defense. It all is going to come down to our run D which has been very suspect.

However, after that game we have three very winnable matchups. Miami and Detroit at home should be wins, especially the way Miami has been playing so far. Clevelend away should also be a win. I know that nothing is a given in the NFL but I believe all three of those are going to be good games for us.

After the bye week we have two very tough games which will probably end up being losses against Ne and Chicago. However, after those two games our last six games are very winnable. Houston, GB and Buffalo at home should be close games and probably wins. Minnesota, Miami and Oakland are all winnable games. Minnesota is going to be a tough game away but the other two could be wins.

Now, I know we will probably lose some of the games that I catagorized as "winable" but I think they are all games that should be close based on the way we have been playing and the way Mangini has prepared us. I know these threads usually get bashed but take a minute and look at the schedule before posting that I don't know what I'm talking about. The way I see it a 8-8, 9-7, or 10-6 finish is not completely out of the question.

I agree 100%. This loss was almost as devastating as a playoff game for some reason. Maybe because it's a 'new-look' team. But anyways, there's still a HELL of a lot of football to be played and a whole lot to look forward to. I was also very pleased with the game and although we lost, I ain't gonna let it get to me. We were the underdog, we weren't supposed to win, but we almost did... and that's the problem. We need to look forward to this rebuilding process, revamp the D a little bit, and ultimately make that 'almost win' into a 'win.'
