With Tennenbaum(sp?) as GM I can't help but think that he has the long term cap consequences of this year draft at least estimated. I don't know what that means exactly, but I do think it may make him a lot more likely to trade down as to not tie up too much money in one player.
As far as QB goes, if the Jets come to the conclusion that one of the second tier guys with a year or even two of learning the system and perhaps bulking up(in Croyle's case) will be nearly as good as the "big three" then they may take one of these guys just to save $. I like Leinart, but I don't think they want to pay him huge $s to sit on the bench for a while. If they don't like any of the second teir guys, they probably trade down for Cutler.

This Saturday sure will be fun!

Keep in mind the #1 pick in this draft's rookie allocation will be around 2.85M-3M. It can only stretch 6 yrs too (signing bonus). So at minimum salary (230K), this rook can only get about 15-17M of a signing bonus, but of course, he can get guaranteed salaries in years to come that wouldn't count at all in the 2.85, or get an option bonus before 2007 with a huge payoff if it is not taken.
