Per Jenny Vrentas, Jets placed WR Logan Payne (dislocated wrist) on injured reserve, ending his season. Payne suffered the injury in New York's final preseason game. The fact Payne was kept on the active roster for so long indicates the Jets are less than thrilled with their receiver corps, but he was never going to be a factor this season. Payne has just three career catches, all of which came in 2008 with the Seahawks. Still only 26, he should compete for a roster spot next summer.
#Jets announce they have placed WR Logan Payne (wrist) on IR & signed DT Martin Tevaseu to the active roster from the Practice Squad .
why the hell did it take so long to do this? Should have been done in the preseason, and better yet, why the hell did we do it on a Saturday? Should have come to this conclusion Monday. Thankfully we are just bringing MTV back up, so he doesnt need time to learn the Defense or anything, but I'm sure he would have liked the extra week of better pay not being on the PS.
Edwards is a better fit in this offense than Burress. It's a pointless argument to make though because our front office opted to go with a cornerback instead of surrounding our potential franchise quarterback with familiar receivers.
I like Tanny keeping extra cap space to make next year easier but you can't help but think some of that could have brought Braylon back. Braylon also messed up overvaluing himself so much. Both sides fucked up on that deal.
He's only played in 2 games, and is coming back next week. Looking back at things if I knew Braylon would play weeks 1 and 2 and be injured weeks 3-6 and then get him back, yes I would still like to have Braylon. Anyone who says Braylon's not that important didn't watch any Jets games last year.
I would agree if it was a reasonable price the jets got him back at. He didn't seem willing to take a reasonable contract here after the Holmes deal want down. It sucks but I think it would have been very difficult to bring Braylon back for a contract that was good for the team past this season.
I think he would've signed a contact worthy of his performance (a reasonable contract not crazy). Had we not went so hard for Nnamdi, and just contact Braylon to show him a little love, I'm sure he would be in the line up today. But honestly we were the ones that turned a cold shoulder to him, and now we have Cro who scares the hell out of me every single play, Mason who we just traded after not doing poop, and Plax who is really showing his age, and rust. The Nnamdi situtaion F'd us up bad, and now look how he's been playing!
Can't emphasize that enough. Not only did both sides mishandle things but both sides are now worse off because of it.
Nnamdi is playing in a system that plays to his weaknesses, not his strengths. If he came here, he would be playing to his strengths, thus playing far better. He is an idiot for going to play in Philly's system. Braylon, it appears was not wanted back, in any way shape or form. I wanted him back in Green as much as anybody, but the FO clearly didnt want him. So its no use pining for him, we didnt want him, so therefore he isn't here now, and won't be next offseason if SF lets him walk.
About time. A shame no deal could have been worked out with Braylon. Like previous posters said they both messed it up.
