With the recent transaction of releasing Mark Brown where does this leave us? Vilma- Barton- Hobson if we are commited to the 3-4 is this a plan preview of moving Abe back to lb or is it a hint of drafting A.J Hawk?

I hope it means Bobby Carpenter/Thomas Howard with either the pick from the Broncos in a trade using Abe, or our second rounder, with the other pick being a tackle...

I'm no defensive expert, but I don't think we have the type of lineman/linebackers to move to the 3-4. I mean, we don't have any speed rushing OLBs. We don't have a second ILB, and we're missing a RE.

It means that, right now, we don't have alot of depth at LB.

Abe is gone were gonna trade him and we wont draft Hawk even though I wouldnt mind so much if we did it but it wouldnt be my pick. We will maybe sign Mcginest to play the other OLB.

Hobson would be the second middle linebacker and the runstuffing guy. Vilma being the coverage guy, playing a role much like Ray Lewis did in Baltimore. We really need a nose tackle at this point. You can work around and experiment with players like Thomas and Barton as a speed rusher. It's hard to experiment with a nose tackle like Robertson when he's played under tackle all his career and has been against one guard and a tailback.

I know this idea is way out there but what about Darrell MClover to compete for OLB. He is deffinetly fast. Problally fast enough to play safety. Is it Possible this guy can come in the mix and compete for that kind of spot.

i really like this kid mcclover....it was one of many injuries last year that pissed me off
he was the fastest linebacker in his draft class and is an athletic beast....he could make the perfect speed rusher if healthy

McClover is a beast on special teams..he should be given a chance granted he fully recovers from his year ending injury last year...Hopefully he put on a few pounds sitting on his ass eating potato chips watching the Jets

I like the idea of trying McClover out as a situational speed rusher, and I'm sure the FO has considered that option. I don't think he'll ever develop into a starter, though.

It means that we will most likely get free agents for that position.

Y'all need to stop complaining about everything until we see the end product. Our front office is going to be doing things a lot differently then the average impatient fan wants. Just deal with it. Free agency doesn't win superbowls.

Why isn't there any talk of us picking up a FA Linebacker like Julian Peterson or Will Witherspoon. Both of these linebackers are fast and can make big plays on the QB. With the increased cap space and our possible switch..these two guys would make great fits into our system. Let me know what you think

#1 Peterson has yet to recover completely from his torn ACL. When heathly he is top 5 OLB. He has played Safety, Defensive End, CB and OLB all in the course of his career.

#2 They WANT a BIG Contract
