I personally believe the Jets should trade the 6th pick and stock pile more picks. I know this team is in desperate need for a play-maker but I truly believe that besides Darren McFadden and the player for LSU who is projected to get picked first (can't think of his name right now), I really don't see any other true play-makers. I want to see the Jets make the playoffs next season. I believe this team has too many needs and needs more then just one significant player. Trading this pick will allow the Jets to select more players who can make an impact.

    Draft Scenario

I agrre we should trade the pick and stockpile as much we can get back. For those who didnt see it in the draft forum

This mock really depends on alot of things but they are still very likely.Thinking the past couple days i realized that Atlanta really needs a qb way more than a rb, but with what Adrian Peterson did this year how could u pass up the chance of that happening Aurthur Blank wants to win now and with no Mike Vick Atlanta fans have nothing come to see they need someone who can make a difference now and McFadden is that guy. They really have to take him.

With that Matty Ryan falls and with that Oak gets screwed but they settle for our guy Vernon Gholston. They better chose for them would be Sedrick Ellis with sapp retiring but knowing Al Davis he would rather Gholston.

Now with this projection,Dorsey both Longs,McFadden and Gholston are gone.Yeah the worst posiible scenario, cause no matter how badly Clemens played this year it just wouldnt make since giving up on him this easily by picking Ryan with #6 overall.

Enter my scenario there are 3 teams looking for a qb to pick in the first round Baltimore, Carolina, Chicago.Baltimore is less likly to trade with us seeing as they are guranteed to get either Ryan or Brohm which really isnt a bad oucome. Carolina depending on how safe John Foxs job is, could be looking for a qb but safety is the biggest need.Problem is New Orleans and Denver will get first dibs on whether they want Kenny Phillips or not.

Chicago for us would be the best position as we can settle down to #14 (as we did last to grab the beast aka Darrele Revis).
So it would be our 1st #6 overall for theirs #14 and their second a choice of either thier original 3rd or the 3rd they got from San Diego.

From their at #14 we can either trade down again or pick Gosder Cherilus RT Boston College. Some might say too high but i think he will jump to around this spot during the combine.Im not a big fan of consistently choosing 1st round picks on o-lineman but its kinda hard to doubt their effectiveness.
With this we would have left #36 overall #44 overall #67 and either #75 or #90. Thats 4 more picks in rounds 2 and 3.

We could use this ammo to shoot up to the first round or stay where we are at. I say stay where we are, with not choosing Gholston in round 1 we need to to take an OLB either Groves or Harvey should be there at 36 im hoping for Groves. At #44 Dre Moore should be the guy , Pat Sims wont fall that far and besides i think Dre Moore is the better fit.

On Day 2 we should focus on a corner, nt and wr. With those 2 being the deepest they have been in years. With the emergence of Antonio Cromartie being so dominant everyone is now looking for that tall fast corner who can make a play after he gets the ball. Well his cousin Dominique fits the same mold 6'2 183.We u see Antonio u cant help but think Dominique can do the same things eventually.Thats why if necessary i wouldnt hesitate trading a future 2nd rounder to be in position to draft him.Right now Cromartie is slated in that late 2nd early third but i wouldnt be surprised if he eventually thought of as a first rounder. If we arent able to grab him Brandon Flowers,Dwight Lowery, Justin King should all be around that same slot.

The second 3rd rounder should be used to bring in a NT belive it or nor Frank Okam has fallen into 3rd-4th round projections , honestly i cant really say if thats a good or bad thing. His knock is not having a great motor and taking plays off well if i was 320 i might fell the need to rest a little i mean u cant go all out all the time.I would mind taking a shot on him. Ahtyba Rubin is interesting i havent heard about him until this week but if Okam is gone he will most likely be there to replace him as the pick

As for wideout im having trouble deciding on whether we need a tall target or burner well Adrian Arrington isnt 6'4, he dosnt run a 4.3 but hes 6'3 and runs 4.4.I thinks that pretty good for a 4th round choice.

At this point of the draft its really hard to say personally id just like a prospect that ive heard of before.I love the draft but every year this is time in the draft where i start sayin"who the hell is that". I remember even being mad about the Kerry Rhodes pick years back when i wanted someone else.
So wioth that i think we should target some linebackers an o-line depth. Not really in any order players i like Kirk Barton OT Ohio State,J Lehman MLB Illinois, Curtis Gatewood OLB Vanderbilt,Josh Johnson QB San Diego, Dennis Dixon QB Oregon.

Not to be rude, but if you don't even know these players' names, you don't know if they are playmakers or not or whether they are worth drafting 6th or not.

ok, here's the problem. It's not like they can go to the NFL Office and be like "Here's the #6 pick. We'll take one in the mid-teens and a second rounder." They have to find a trade partner that likes a player enough that will give up their picks in order to grab said player. And then on top of that, a trade that's fair to both sides has to be worked out, which isn't a cake walk.

The only trade scenario I see working out is if Jerry Jones decides he MUST have McFadden, and D-Mac slips all the way to 6. But I still think that's a long, long, long, long shot.

There will be a playmaker there at #6. I have a feeling that this playmaker will be able to feel a important need for us on top of that. Any way you play it, someone will be there.

    Sedrick Ellis
    Chris Long
    Jake Long
    Vernon Gholston
    Glenn Dorsey
    Darren Mcfadden

If we did trade down, I would be happy with that as well. If we went down anywhere between 10th and 20th, I would be happy. A lot of decent talent there, and obviously we have wiggle room in later rounds to make some moves.

I'm hoping it's our pick before NE that finds us a trade partner. NE is in position to take the top LB or CB prospect and somebody will want their guy.

I?m sick of these posts. Yeah, i agree, would be good to go down some spots and get a extra secondrounder and i?m pretty sure, that Tanny is open for it as well. The problem is, that you need another team to trade with, and that?s where it gets complicated. Another team will only trade up, where there?s a player, who they really like and they think the team behind us will grab him. So this trade won?t be done before Draftday, because noone knows for sure, who is availabe.

And there are not many scenarios where i can see that. You might think if Ryan falls to us, Chicago or Carolina might jump on him, but i doubt that. We won?t draft a QB in round 1 and NE won?t either. That means the team wanting ryan will probably trade with the pats to pick him before Baltimore. McFadden vs. Trade down has been discussed in countless threads, when we thought we would end up with the 3rd pick. Now with the 6th pick, and much less value in return, the "Take the playmaker"-fraction will probably win this battle. Dorsey and the Longs won?t fall. And i?m not sure if anyone is that much in love with Ellis to trade up for him, especially since he doesn?t see to be a good fit for our D, and we might very well pass on him.

If you say trade down, you have to say with witch team, and who falls to us, who that team is in love with, and willing to trade up for, if you can?t come up with a well thought scenario, this thread is completly useless, als 20 before.

there is no top LB. i see NE pick either Jenkins of Philips, depending on what BB is planing to do with merriweather.
