At this point I can't foresee more than 3 more wins. We will probably beat Miami once, the Browns and maybe the Ravens. Honestly it doesn't matter because we won't win more than 5 games. With that being said, the top three quarterbacks in the draft aren't very impressive. I have no idea why Brad Kaaya and DeShone Kizer are so highly rated. Neither have been very good this year with pedestrian stat lines for Kaaya of 10 touchdowns/4 picks on 62% completion percentage and Kizer with 14 touchdowns/7 picks on 58.1 completion percentage. Kizer has a less than impressive arm as well. The problem here is that we need to finish worse than the Browns to get DeShaun Watson unless Kessler convinces them that he's their quarterback the rest of year. We need a face of the franchise type player if we have any hope in turning it around. If we don't win the Watson sweepstakes, do we take McCafrey or Leonard Fourtnette? Is JuJu Smith-Schustsr a dynamic enough playmaker and polished player ala Amari Cooper to be taken in the top five? Is Cam Robinson an NFL left tackle? I know we have a draft forum but the rest of the season is looking towards the draft. What does everyone think? By the way, if we go defense and take Myles Garrett or the corner from Florida I'm going to be very upset as most everyone will be. We have enough pieces on defense to build around later in the draft. The team need an offensive makeover badly and basically a complete build on that side of the ball.
Honestly, the worst part about this season is that, based on the schedule, we will probably go 6-10 or 7-9 and lose out on a blue chip player.
Offensive line first 3 picks. Only exception is wr with the first pick has to be a Megatron type dude, instant nickname. If there isn't a monster wide receiver with the first pick then all lineman for 3 picks. Linebacker and secondary remaining picks.
If there's a blue chip LT in the draft, I'd go there. I know nothing about the prospects next year so that's just spitballing.
RB: Fournette Cook Chubb Connor OL: Robinson Lamp Nelson Pocic WR: Sutton Davis Thomas Kupp TE: Butt Sprinkle LB: Foster Cunningham Watt CB: Tabor Conley Lattimore King Awuzie Wilson Stewart Just try to get as many of these fucks as you can. In whatever order. If Trubisky comes out try to get him too.
The disappointing thing about the opportunity to see our young QB's play (please fucking happen) is that they will be playing the easier part of the schedule. Maybe Ryan does give us the best opportunity for this coming draft.
Fournette reminds me of Clowney lately. Everyone said he should sit the year before becoming eligible after looking like a man amongst boys. Now little injuries are popping up. His backup Guice looks fantastic too. Maybe we can get Myles Garrett and finally get that edge presence we have lacked for so long.
We're just as bad as the team's upcoming on the 'easy' schedule that's upcoming. The only teams we're probably legitimately better than are the Browns and the 9ers, and the Browns have played relatively competitively all year. Not to mention Kessler has been slinging the rock around pretty well. Plus we always lose on the west coast in San Francisco. There's no way we beat the Bills, Patriots(x2), Colts, Ravens. That's 10 losses right there. We'll probably split with Miami. 11. We'll likely lose to the Rams. That's 12. The Jets will be lucky to get to five wins.
We will get a shot at Watson, Kizer, or Trubisky. It's important we figure out what we have in Petty/Hack before the off-season.
It's about that time again to start talking FA and draft. Much earlier then we all ever wanted but that's the way shit goes... We probably reel off some meaningless wins lose out on a top player and draft a bust like we usually do.
Agreed. This team came back when they were able to draft Brick and Mangold high. Either take the best Olineman or Myles Garrett
The Jets needs to sign a vet CB, no more of this drafting 1st round CB/secondary shit we've done it way too many times in the past few years. I doubt we draft high enough for a high level QB prospect, but we need to draft high on O and do so for a few of the next upcoming drafts.
We need: OL help, an Edge Rusher, and CB Help..... if we go cb, Tabor out of Florida, Peppers out of Michigan, or Marlon Humphrey out of Alabama... OL Wise Cam Robinson out of Alabama, Mike Mcglinchy out of notre dame, or Roderick Johnson out of Florida state..... edge rushers wise: Myles Garret out of Texas A&M, or Tim Williams out of Alabama..... none of the QB are locks...... but Both Deshauns look like solid prospects I wouldn't mind looking at
Trade one of our D-lineman for a 1st rounder. (if thats even possible) Unless we get a new coach who actually knows how to use them together and create some synergy.
