this is draft related, not about the Jets. I had no idea where else to put this topic.

    1. Only 1 QB will go in the first round
    - the teams that need a QB are: KC, Philly, Buffalo, Arizona. you could throw the Jets in there too, but Sanchez will be around next year. I think Philly, Buffalo and Zona all pass on a QB in the first round and take one in rounds 2-4. the only team I see taking a QB is KC and it will be Geno Smith.

    2. Both of Texas A&M's tackles will go in the top 10
    - Joeckel and Matthews are both studs and two overall great football players. there is a bunch of teams in the top 10 that could use OLine help (Philly, Zona, STL to name a few)

    3. Ezekiel Ansah will shock people come April
    - I believe this kid's stock will skyrocket come April. he's projected right now as a late first round pick, but I will go as far to say he goes in the top 10. he's a raw talent, but he picks the game up quick and gets better every game.

    4. Quinton Patton has a good chance at being the first WR off the board
    - Patton just keeps getting better and better and with a draft class with no real stand out receivers, Patton has a good chance to be the first one off the board. I would love the Jets to get this kid, but not in the first round where I think he ends up.

    5. Manti Te'o/Jarvis Jones may drop out of the top 10
    - everyone loves Te'o, but I really wouldn't be surprised if he dropped out of the top 10. the way the top 10 looks now the needs are either: QB, pass protection or pass rush. Manti can get you a few sacks but let's face it he won't be pulling 10+ sack seasons. Manti is a great leader on the field and has decent coverage, he grabbed 7 INT's his senior year, but 0 the previous 3.

    - as or Jarvis Jones, he has a spinal issue. an issue I see making Jones a short term player in the NFL. he will be too much of a risk to take in the top 10, but with the lack of defensive playmakers he could fall back into the top 10. maybe a team takes a risk on him, but I wouldn't.

    6. no running backs will be taken in the 1st round
    - there is no standout at the RB position, Gio Bernard is looking like the best in show, but I see him going early 2nd. a few teams need a running game, but I don't think Gio is worth the risk of a first round pick. maybe a team like the Packers takes a chance on him, but their rushing attack has been looking solid as of late.

    7. Barkevious Mingo will be a top 5 pick
    - I'm not a fan of Mingo, but come April he will garner a lot of hype. I think he has a phenomenal showing at the combine. I think either the Jaguars or Raiders take him.

I agree with all of this. You know I love Ansah. Mingo in the top 5 would probably shock draft observers, but is not completely crazy.

For my personal prediction is Werner is the first DE taken and I the top 3. Great motor and production with out jones's medical red flag put I'm over the top. He just screams of a Raiders DE to me.

ever since you put me on to Ansah I been watching a lot of his tape. he has the skills to be a top 10 pick.

I also see Werner as the first DE off the board. top 3, for sure.

I think Barkley will go in the 1st also. I think the odds favor a Brady Quinn/Aaron Rodgers like drop at this point but it's hard to go from being a consensus #1 pick a year ago to out of the 1st round. His floor is probably first 4 picks of the 2nd round but I'll be surprised if he gets there.

Jake Matthews is probably going to make it down to the 12 to 14. That's where excellent RT prospects come off the board when real LT's are available. I make Joeckel and Lewan higher picks and a chance that Warmack goes off the board before Matthews also.

Ansah will go somewhere in the teens is my guess. He's a high risk/high reward guy without a lot of playing time at the college level. Somebody will bite on the potential but they're also getting one of the highest bust quotients in the 1st round this year.

Patton is like the 5th or 6th WR prospect at this point. He's 6'2". He runs a 4.53. What exactly is going to push him so high up the board? He isn't going to go to the combine and shock people. I think he's a 2nd round pick and probably mid-2nd.

Teo is a top 5 pick. Jones is a top 5 pick if healthy at the combine. I could see Jones dropping out to the teens if there are real questions about his health moving forward. Teo's floor is the 9.

Agree on the runningbacks. I think the only way Bernard goes in the 1st is if the Jets get desperate after losing Shonn Greene and reach for him.

Mingo probably has had the most disappointing season of anybody projected to be in the top 5 at the start of the season. He's running neck and neck with Barkley for that distinction but 4 sacks is just a really bad number for a stud OLB to be stuck on in his junior year. I could see him dropping out of the 1st round altogether. In fact, I could see him not declaring for the draft at all when the realization of what the season has meant to his draft prospects sinks in.

I love Patton, but I dont think he sniffs the first round. He's not necessarily fast so I dont expect his combine numbers to really jump out causing a rise in stock. I think he'll go somewhere between late 2nd to 3rd round.

I think you are completely underestimating Te'O. He's not just decent in coverage, he's VERY good. His instincts are second to none in this class and so is his leadership. I would absolutely love this kid on the Jets and if they were drafting even in the top 5 he would be at the top of my list.

Also I dont think Mingo is picked even in the top 10... He's got the talent, but has dropped of big time this year and if I were a team I certainly would not be any where near that in the top 5.

Mingo could go back to school for another year. He's taking a real chance going into the draft this season after what happened on the field. He's in Quinton Coples territory right now.

I think Mingo goes top 10, mainly because of upside, and because there aren't the usual skill position players that go early in drafts. I see no QB worth taking in the top 10, no WR, and I'm not completely sure, but no CBs, and definitely no RB. He will dominate at the combine.

I agree, I think Barkley will drop big time. The string of USC QBs that have been disappointments, his lack of ELITE skills, and his regression this year especially with two of NCAA best WRs will set him back big time. I think he goes second round AT BEST.
