There are no moral victories from today.

    HOWEVER

Once again our secondary was SUPERIOR. Not good SUPERIOR. ELam, RHodes, Poteat and Revis covered the Pats receivers better than any other team has this year.

Eric Smith actually played more, and better than Elam.

For the record, it was a lot of Eric Smith in the second S spot today....

Despite our lack of a passrush, the secondary, especially Revis, REALLY held down the Pats' passing game.. Even on Moss' one big play, it was a very good play by Rhodes, with an iffy interference call, that required a spectacular falling/sliding catch by Moss.....

Revis is a true stud at corner, as is Rhodes at S.... We're halfway to a dominant secondary....

they did play very well today. Even though the weather will get all the credit for the Pats calling a conservative game plan.

Revis, Rhodes and Samuel sounds great for our secondary...

    But at the same time...

How does Suggs, Harris, Vilma, B.Thomas sound as linebackers in the 3-4?

You see this is why I'm lobbying for Kenny Philips with our top pick. Mangini can create a good secondary, so let him. One great unit on a team can cover up blemishes elsewhere.

I'd rather hold on to either Barton or Hobson than Thomas. I'd rather hold on to that skilled vending machine from the Pepsi commercials than Thomas.

Have to disagree with you on that one. What you said can be true but the great unit would have to be the d-line not the secondary. A great secondary doesn't stop the run. A great D-line can rush the passer and make your secondary better.

Whatever happened to Andre Dyson? Is he hurt or did he just fall off the face of the Earth? I haven't seen him on the field in a long time.

I think if you look at a unit like the Colts' defense, who've lost many defensive lineman but are still a good run stuffing defense thanks to Bob Sanders, it proves that great secondaries can make a difference.

Great D-Lines definitely can make the secondary look better, but I feel like we are MANY moves away from having a great D-Line and only ONE move away from having a great Secondary.

It's weird because he was so good last year, but it never seemed like he got a chance this season.

    too funny... it begins already...

    Wind holds back Randy Moss

    Randy Moss, WR NE
News: Because of blowing winds at Foxboro Stadium, Patriots WR Randy Moss caught five passes for 79 yards against the Jets in Week 16. Moss still needs four scoring catches to break Jerry Rice's single-season mark of 22.
Analysis: With the win, New England clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Might this mean that the team will rest Randy Moss in Week 16 when they play vs. Miami? Probably not until they build a big lead, and by then, Moss will have likely played a big role in that effort. He remains a No. 1 Fantasy WR.
    Profile

    Tom Brady throws no touchdowns

    Tom Brady, QB NE
News: On a blustery, rainy day in Foxboro, Mass., Tom Brady found an opponent he couldn't dominate: The weather. Between some iffy playcalling and the Patriots decision to run the ball early and often, Brady completed just 14-of-27 passes for a meek 140 yards with one interception and -- get this -- no touchdowns. Brady remained five touchdown passes short of breaking Peyton Manning's record of 49. He also had 9 yards rushing. "When you have elements like this you want to play great defense and run the ball," Brady said.
Analysis: With the win, New England clinched home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. Might this mean that the team will rest Tom Brady in Week 16 when they play vs. Miami? Probably not unless the team builds a big lead. But one thing is clear: When it's windy, Brady won't be asked to throw very much. For now, consider Brady a must-start Fantasy QB if your team survived despite him this week.

any time a team decides to run it down our throats, we get this."our secondary is the bomb", crap. i cant wait to have a good d-line and some linebackers so we can find out.

Yeah but of the Patriots offensive plays, 35 of the 62 or 56% were runs. That is hardly "running it down our throats." The defense as a whole but in particular the secondary had a very very good game yesterday.

Pat's really didn't have an offensive TD(they got the ball on the 2 yd line after punt block). Brady had that wind he was trying to launch it.All those incomplete passes were due to good coverage by the Jets period..If you re re-watch the game there is a Jet player right there on EVERY pass..They will spin this weather shit to make it seem like we didn't stop them..it was the weather..Mulrooney had a 104 yds so lets not make like he ran rip shod through us. Brady's QB rating was 59.6..hahaha.. That record will have to wait another week or so TB
