Rock n Roll has lost a legend. Leslie West passed away from cardiac arrest at 75. Most will recognize him from the song Mississippi Queen. His tone on his guitar was legendary. For those not familiar with the group Mountain, I would suggest a few albums. Nantucket Sleighride, Mountain Climbing, and Flowers of Evil. RIP Leslie West.
My first concert ever was Leslie West with Mountain at my high school John Jay in Hopewell Junction, NY, Dec 11 1974. The senior class worked for years to raise the money for that show. JoJo Gunn was the opening act. Had such an impact on me that I started a band and ended up playing the New York club curcuit and ski resorts for years before finally settling into a "real job". Leslie was my inspiration. Rest in Peace Guitar Master.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_deaths_due_to_COVID-19 Cardiac arrest also could be Covid 19. Cause of death on the coroners certificate is often the thing that actually killed them, not the underlying syndrome or disease that contributed to that cause. Lots of diabetics have died of liver failure when what actually killed them was diabetes, same for alcoholics.
OMG...back to High School days... so sad !! :/ "Long Red....flowing through my mind" those were songs we guzzling beer to ..sigh
Leslie West and Felix Pappalardi were great singers with totally different styles that made Mountain an awesome band. RIP to both.
